He is. Poor thing, he's gone for a job hunt again.... that always depresses him...
Whatcha up to these days?
:-)
Mistadrong, (Count vonCount.)the last Gog standing Posted Feb 3, 2003
That's depressing for anyone. I remember both my sons going through that. They got something in the end though.
I was supposed to be redundant by Christmas, then it was next March. The last thing I heard was it's postponed until next year.
It's good news unless they're lulling us into a false sense of security.
I hope Mike gets something soon.
:-)
Yael Smith Posted Feb 5, 2003
Well, not soon enough. He's nearly got a job at the Sheraton today, but he doesn't speak Hebrew and has no ID.
:-)
Mistadrong, (Count vonCount.)the last Gog standing Posted Feb 7, 2003
Oh, that's too bad.
It looks like he will have to learn Hebrew then or
is it possible to get by with just English?
These things can be a strain on a relationship
sometimes. Are you both coping ok?
:-)
Yael Smith Posted Feb 9, 2003
Well, yes, he could get along just fine with only English if he was working here, but he's not.We cope alright. He wasn't telling me just how badly he was looking for a job, and I thought he's depressed himself so much he doesn't even want to *find* one anymore, and after offending him afew times he's told me- he walks into allot of places, asks if they need workers and gets told where to go, most times. So it was bad for awhile, but now I understand and don't pressure him anymore.

That's a typical masculine thing, keeping shtum about what going on and causing problems. I think it stems from the Victorian times here where a man was supposed to keep a stiff upper lip and all that. Or maybe it's in the genes.
I know we all do it until our partners get so exasperated with us and then it all comes out.
Some of us have learned and communicate, now our partners say,
will you ing shut up about how you feel.
:-)
Yael Smith Posted Feb 10, 2003
Oh, he usually keeps it quiet- it's SO annoying!!!
I want to know what he's up to and he doesn't want to bother me. Men....
:-)
Mistadrong, (Count vonCount.)the last Gog standing Posted Feb 12, 2003
Yep, that's us to a "t".
Chirpy and full of the joys of spring when everything is going ok but quiet and reserved when things are not going so well. It's that British stiff upper lip thing. Watch the old English movies and you'll hear the typical dialogue when disaster is screaming towards the couple.
She: What's going on?
He: Nothing for you to worry about darling.
:-)
Yael Smith Posted Feb 16, 2003
Nothing for you to worry your pretty little head about, darling
more like...
I just want to know. And then I ask- why are you so nervous? and he says- I'm NOT nervous!
:-)
Mistadrong, (Count vonCount.)the last Gog standing Posted Mar 19, 2004
Hi Elly.
Yes I'm back again.
I put a post in my diary thingy to explain
why I was away for so long.
How are you? How is Mike?
Hope you are both well
and things are good for you.
:-)
Yael Smith Posted Mar 22, 2004
I'm fine, I'm in the UK, waiting for the birth of our baby. My journal gives further details, I'll go over to read yours.
:-)
Mistadrong, (Count vonCount.)the last Gog standing Posted Mar 24, 2004
I'm surrounded by babies. The couple next door have had a baby and the couple one house down have just had a baby. (only 4 houses in the row)Now I find you are going to have a baby.
Did you ask what the sex of the baby is going to be or did you prefer not to know?
I wish you a quick and easy delivery when it's time.
:-)
Mistadrong, (Count vonCount.)the last Gog standing Posted Mar 26, 2004
That's boys for you!
Fighting to get out only to
spend a lifetime trying to get back in again.
(apologies if that's offensive)
:-)
Yael Smith Posted Mar 27, 2004
Trust me, dear, there aren't many things I find offensive these days...
How are you getting along these days?
I'm counting down the days to my due date (10) and hoping he'll be a good little thing and come out without induction.
So far- no such luck.
Key: Complain about this post
