I have been invited to a Mardi Gras party and don't know what to wear!??
Any suggestions? They do ask for masks.

By the way, French is my second language, but am a bit rusty these days since I hardly use it any longer.

I read your intro page. My father was in the U.S. Army from 1942-1945.

Mardi Gras outfits can range from full evening gowns with long gloves to really silly costumes depending on the type of event. If in doubt, go for dressy(perhaps black or dark green) with sparkly accessories.

Thanks for the reply - the Mardi Gras site really interesting and will also try to get some beads which I believe are all the craze now.
In haste as am out this evening to a talk re family history entitled "Who do you think you are" which also a series on TV where famous people discover their history.

Went to Mardi Gras party last Saturday night. Wonderful! However, we Brits are a bit self conscious and my husband and I were the only ones in fancy dress! but everyone wore masks and some were spectacular. The food was authentic and the party went on into the night. I have only just recovered! Happy memories.
