Hiya, mate.
Slipped in here on a banana shell (well, more of a slippery ship's hull, but still) and noticed you haven't been ACEd yet. Which means one of two things:
1. You're a slippery man. A slippery man in deed to get through the intricate web of the ACEs.
2. You hadn't written anything in your intro when the ACEs were here, and therefor, they couldn't greet you.
Anyways, I'm Lost in Scotland, although most people on here just calls me Lost or LiS. As you might see from my online name, I'm in the general vicinity of your current location (Scotland) and possibly even within 20-30 miles from you.
Umm. I just wanted to stop by and say hi. I saw that you were thinking of getting an article starting about the building of ships at the River Clyde, and just thought I'd stop by and introduce myself.
Somehow, I seem to never get to the point, so I'll try to remember what I wanted to say when I started writing this here thread entry.
Yes, right. I remember now. If you feel like getting to know a few more Researchers from around Scotland, please head over to the Scottish Researchers Group. We're generally a lively group of people who like to get together every now and then for a mighty piss-up (and unfortunately, most of the times, people bring cameras to those meet-ups as well so we can't deny anything afterwards).
If you feel like it, just head over to http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A599376 for the Guide Home of the SRG. There's lots of nice people there, both those located in Scotland, or Scottish ex-patriots.
Right, I won't bore you any more. As I said, I just wanted to pop by to say hi.
Cheers
/Lost

Things are all right, mate. After all, we won't have to do the Christmas thing for another 360 odd days now, so that's good.
Looking forward to Hogmanay.
Happy Hogmanay to you as well, mate.

Welcome to the Guide. I see you've already jumped in with both feet. Here for three days, and already laying the ground work for a University Project and offering to help on another one. You don't mess around, do you?
There are a lot of ways to experience the Guide. I've been active here for a little over a year, and I'm not sure hwat all is here. The two places that I've found that lead into the most interesting things are Askh2g2 [http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F19585] and the Peer Review [http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/F48874] where unedited entries are reviewed before being edited.
We have a small community for veterans called the Barracks [http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A572799]. You're more than welcome to come over.
I'll see you around the Guide.
