Hi Abbi dear! Things are good. I am going to put off the medicine change for another month because I want to go on a *drumroll please* canoe trip!! I'm excited, it's been so long since I got to go anywhere on vacation.

Abbi, could you resubscribe to the yoohoo thread on my page? It gives me a place to check in with you, see how you are doing.

I went to my 20th high school reunion this week, and had a good time, contrary to all my expectations!

Have fun! Rather you than me i must say, but then again, the only canoe i've ever been in was a dugout canoe in Africa, which was terrifying! I assume you're not taking Micio along?

A canoe trip sounds like fun! I've only canoed once (white water canoeing for just a few hours ... there was not a lot of white water.) It was really fun to be away from regular life, even if just for a little while. I'm sure your trip will be great ... I can't wait to hear about it.

Hiya JEllen! I hope your week is going well since Monday when we chatted on AIM. It was fun hearing about your reunion, can't wait to hear all about the canoe trip! I've never been canoeing... call me weird, but while I can swim and snorkel and even dive, I am terrified of boats! I've been on cruises before, big ships aren't scary because they're like floating hotels (and except the last one I took, which followed hurricane Michelle the whole way, you hardly notice you're moving at all), but I can't even stand ferries or tenders. Being *in* the water is one thing, beg *on* the water, and at its mercy, is another thing entirely. It will be awesome to be able to experience a bit of canoeing vicariously, through your adventure!

NEWS FLASH: My modem has only been working sporadically for the last couple days -- my computer is about to croak. No worries, I plan to buy a new one, but I am waiting to find a good deal, and my have to do some searching. And it may take a while to get the new one up and running. I will have new email addresses. So don't panic if I "disappear" for a couple weeks.

The canoe trip will be June 11th through the 13th. I hope I am awake during the day that week, it will be difficult to adjust if I am not. My sister-in-law, when told I was going canoeing, said "What is she going to do, sleep in the canoe?"

Just got your e-mail awhile ago, thought I should post here that I'm planning a changeover in early June. (I've got windows me & plan to upgrade to xp.) So I'll be offline for a couple weeks or more, not completely - I will drop by sporadically. Wanted to make sure I give alot of advance warning.

Hi Jazz, good luck on the upgrade. I am hooting tonight, expecting the modem to go *poof* at any minute, LOL.

At least you're prepared for it...let's hope it doesn't happen just yet!

When I was at school we did outdoor pursuits, canoeing, climbing etc, I miss it. Theres places to go to, if you are really into it, but nowhere if you are just an amateur wanting to have fun and do something different. Although I have just read about an ice-climbing wall in London - that would be different!!

Not sure these days if you are allowed to call your modem a "poof"? Anyway, have a great time & good luck with new beastie; you too Jazz.

The dugout canoe thing was terrifying 'cos you had to sit with your legs over the edge & not move or the whole thing started rolling about. Since the water we were being dugouted across was home to crocodiles & hippos, i wasn't exactly happy about trailing my legs as tempting snacks!
