It was fun, I liked it. I was distracted sometimes by the fx. I liked the retro concept thing.

I heard that the actors spent almost all of their time in front of blue screens. Must have been difficult.

"Sky Captain" got such crappy reviews here in Chicago. Glad to hear a couple of my buddies liked it. That means I can add it to my list to rent when the DVD comes out and not feel too apprehensive. smiley - smiley

I watched "Alice Sweet Alice" tonight. Tomorrow I will watch something else, dunno what yet, and Wednesday night am watching "Putney Swope" with my sweetie, finally!

I haven't seen reviews yet. I saw it opening day cause I had a gift certificate for GMC theaters. My friend A's mom had given me the GC for my birthday so I could afford to see movies with her daughter. "A" sees a lot of movies and had already seen all the others I wanted to see. Otherwise I'd have waited to see it at the cheap theaters like all the others I see. I rate movies based on whether I would have felt screwed if I'd paid full price. I don't think I would have felt screwed if I'd paid full price for Sky Captain but I would definately have waited for it to be cheap. smiley - smiley

Me too! smiley - biggrin

(Needless to say... I feel that way often... i.e., "King Arthur" smiley - winkeye)

I almost never pay full price so I rarely feel I've been screwed. I don't recall a movie I felt screwed about having seen for cheap. I know many I'd have felt screwed about having paid full price I never pay full price so it's generally not an issue.

Haven't seen King Arthur. Sorry to hear it was not worth the smiley - 2cents

I saw Finding Neverland, and thought Johnny Depp turned in a top notch performance, radically different from his Pirates role, but just as good. The little kids in it are good actors too, esp Peter. Oh, I should explain that the movie is about the author of Peter Pan. It is a 4 hankie movie though, be warned, both my sister and I were sniffling by the end.

I am excited about The Aviator, of course, being Leo's latest movie! Previews look very good. He plays Howard Hughes.

Previews also look good for Kinsey, about the man who wrote the infamous Kinsey report in the 50's. Stars Liam Neeson and Laura Linney.

Alexander is getting a roasting by the critics, LOL. I may have to go see it at the cheap theater just for fun. Can't imagine Collin Farrell as Alexander the Great! Guess this means that the version with Leo by Baz Luhrman will never get made.
