hello there and welcome to h2g2 i just thought i would drop by and say hello as we are very friendly and like to greet the newcomers to the site.I see that you have been greeted by an A.C.E. they very good like that.

I thought I'd stop by to say 'Hello' as well...

I just read your journal...the only reason that I didn't say anything there is that I think Mistdancer and Clive did a good job. They are much more typical of the researchers on h2g2. I'm an American, too, and I would have been amazed at how supportive people have been being, if I hadn't already witnessed how all of Amy the Ants friends (and some casual acquaintences?) have rallied around her since she became ill...

A slightly belated thank you to all for the kind welcome. As I spent the weekend here at a funeral I was somewhat preoccupied. And frankly wasn't feeling terribly chatty. After having lurked about for sometime, it's nice to become part of the community. Thanks for the warm welcome. Hopefully I can find a subject upon which I can contribute to some degree.

Where are you in the US, anyway? Have I met yet another person that's *not* in California? (Seriously, I know only one person even in the same time zone as myself...)

Since you didn't even have to ask what a mufflewhump is, should I take it to mean that you did go to my space, like I invited you to elsewhere? Just curious...

Yes, I took a peek. Very nice. As I just moved in, I haven't hung the drapes or prepared for company terribly well.. Mamma would be horrified.

If you think mine's nice, you should see some of my friends'... (Warning--You will get mooned on Wumbeevil's...) Actually, for months mine was a big thing about whether I should do my epilepsy entry or not...(I did, and it's in peer review )

Amy+ is in Virginia, attending Rad...something. Not Radcliffe, where Helen Keller went, but I do remember that the college Amy+ is going to starts with Rad. I was going to ask if you're near there, but I'll have to go and get the name...Be right back...

So are you settling nicely into h2g2? Are you fighting off the almost inevitable addiction? Or are you not even bothering?

Oops, sorry about that...I just came over from 'Questions Only'...

Not really fighting. But at the office it's too crazy to do more than pop in, at home the short people do tend to refuse to allow much time. But I'll no doubt pop in and out quite a bit.

I see...I guess the fact that I often have nothing to do at work helped to contribute to my addiction...And since we just recently got connected to the internet at home, I think my husband's starting to suspect...(Actually, it's not to hard to get off when I'm home, since my friends in the UK are usually in bed by the time I get home..or at least they should be!)
