I have an electric guitar, and an amplifier... now if I only knew how to play! (purchased them for my daughter to take lessons on. However now she is playing the piano, and the guitar is just sitting there very lonely like...)

I have no idea. I think the guitar was $125.00 ( It's white and kind of a weird shape. I don't remember the manufacturer, purchased it at a music store) and the amp was $80.00. And a year of lessons that she hated cause the guy only had her playing chords. smiley - cross But she is really a fast learner with the piano - and she likes that much better cause she gets to play the melody also. (plus she likes this teacher much better) However this guy teaches guitar also, so after she's had a year or more of piano, I might have her taking lessons for both instruments concurrently.

My grandmother tried to teach me how to play an acoustic guitar, but it hurt my fingers. She said that if I kept playing I would get callouses on my fingertips and then it wouldn't hurt. They never did - so I stopped. Tender fingertips I guess! My daughter is very active - she has callouses all over her hands from tree-climbing, monkey bars, ets. So she never had any problems with the guitar (except for the boring teacher).

Doesn't sound that hot at that price. Ah well. I no longer have any feeling in the tips of my fingers as they're all dead skin callouses (and they really do go a lovely shade of nicotine brown, much quicker than ordinary skin smiley - ok)
Piano is a lot nicer to play, but much harder, she must just be talented.
