EvilClaw: The Catmanthing

I was slightly flabbergasted by all the giant statues and neon in the Forever and And Robin movies. I liked the gritty new yorky feel of Gotham in the original Burton Batman and Returns. And Begins.

Although, you're right about it restarting the continuity. Its not like DC doesn't do that anyway every couple of years.

Begins is probably my third favourite of the 6 batman movies, all of which I have on DVD, with Tim Burton's two as joint first and I'm not sure how I rank Forever, And Robin and the 1970's one

Batman and Robin is pretty low on my list. The Guhvenator as Mr. Freeze? Come on! Also, the Bat-nipples confound and disturb me.

I don't generally like Superman so I too am going to go see it.

... The preview made the movie look very painful for him...

yeah, I'm not a huge Superman fan, I mean he's got these great superpowers and he still gets his ass kicked by Batman at least twice

And his clone Superboy gets his butt kicked by Spiderman during some weird DC/Marvel crossover.

Good point. But in at least one of the ocassions he also had kryptonite and was using a exoskeleton armored suit powered by Gotham's entire electrical power grid.

and? he's still just a guy in a suit. And he looks down on superman and refers to him, derogaterily, as 'the alien'

That was always the coolest thing about Batman. When you get down to it he is just a guy dressed up in a bat costume.

I loved the first few Batman films. They were dark, intense and creepy the way that the comics were. But then..smiley - erm It just got silly. The baddies were hamming up their baddie role, and it became less creepy and more cringeworthy. Batman Begins I loved because it went back to the original concept.

I was a tad disappointed that Ra Al Ghul wasn't an immortal as he is depicted in the comics. But I still think it was a great film.

What makes you think Raz Al Gul wasn't immortal in the film? The only problem I had was that as soon as you saw Liam Neeson you knew whom he was playing

Interesting....I don't think so though...It was never hinted at in the movie....Plus Al Ghul was Egyptian in the comics. I'm not sure why, but I just don't think thats a plot area they wanted to use.

I was more miffed about them getting scarecrow wrong. Also I seem to remember that they implied that Al Gul was very old in the film and yet Liam Neeson was not made up to look old

Well, the fact that he'd been training ninjas for ages and hat his band of ninjas distroyed some major historical cities. I believe he said they were responsible for the plague in europe and othe such catastrophies dating back to classical times.
