Not impossible. You get bonuses for certain classes/races/subclasses. Also, you can take disadvantages later to get extra points.

so with bonuses how much do i have to share out

It depends on how you want to go. After you fulfill the basic requirments you should put points based on what abilities you want your characters to have. The more points you put into soul, the more magic abilities you can get.
