Nope, haven't left yet. It seems we're leaving TUESDAY morning now. Humph. I tell everyone I'm going to leave tomorrow, then I get news that I'm not. Now as soon as I correct myself all over I'm going to find I was wrong and we ARE leaving Monday...sigh. Oh well.
I'll be close to you? Hmmm. "Hey, Dad, can we visit my special online friend? Bob from Illinois? He's very nice, even when he pretends to be a woman." Oh, wouldn't that go over well...

I'm sorry, Wes.. Not leaving when you thought you were kinda always is icky
*giggle* Well, if you wanna come by, come by, but either way enjoy the California sunshine! (it's been pretty good over here lately, but you're gonna wanna bring some pants too, esp. in SF -- gets COLD at night )
Whatcha planning to do while you're here?

Um, I don't know what we were planning to do while down there. My dad has a few friends in the city and surrounding area, I think we're visiting them. And the Bridge, museums, tourist stuff...and he says we'll have a look-see at Berkely and Stanford while we're at it too. Not that *I* want to attend college there, *he* wants me to. So we're off...
And by the way, the random factors are now aligning themselves to look like we *are* leaving Monday afternoon....will it never end?!
And I started reading Stardust, right after finishing Coyote Blue...I was planning to save them both for the car, but forget *that*, I want to read! (And read I shall; I'm halfway through Stardust after on evening...) And now I'm back on the fantasizing about living in fantasy...they don't get dirty in Faerie, and it's so nice...

Actually Stanford is a fun place to go -- Make him take you to the Rodin (?) Gardens (I think it's Rodin.. Whoever did the "Gates of Hell." It's very beautiful there and will probably make the trip worth it to you either way
Hey, travelling on a Sodit means at least the Sodit will go by faster
Woo! Stardust is awesome, innit?

Just finished Stardust a few minutes ago...the way a book should be read, alone and in bed with music in the background. Now I feel like just curling up and going to sleep or something equally comfortable...such a nice, happy ending.
Right now I just can't bring myself to care about whether or not I'll enjoy Stanford. I just want to go to bed early and have happy dreams.

I see on the jacket for Stardust that Neverwhere was being turned into a film with Jim Henson? Have you heard anything about this? Not that I would see a film without reading the book first...

Woooo! I'm in California now...in the Berkeley Public Library. They made me give up my driver's license to get a temporary card...I can only hope they'll give it back later.
I don't think a smiley is needed. Nope, a one should do. We're driving fast enough for it...they're not so much speed *limits* as speed *suggestions*, see. C'mon, give us a break, we're from Montana! There's no speed limit there...well, there is, and has been for several years, but I can still think about the good old days (when I couldn't drive, of course...) can't I?
Feels good to be back online and on the Guide...I was starting to miss it. Ahhhhh....

Berkeley.. Rockin! They have a RHPS showing on weekends there I believe.
You rocketeers..
Hey, you can't reminisce about when you didn't drive.. That defeats the purpose!!
Glad to hear you've got access.

Back now. All better. A little road-weary, we've been driving long days. But it was still fun. Got to go recuperate now...
By the way, why are you now Tommy Girl?

Oh...seemed like more than twenty-four hours....maybe I'm just checking the guide far too often..
Well, the library has Neverwhere for me, but I can't check it out until tomorrow afternoon--that whole system shutdown thing is just ending. But there are good consequences of the shutdown, too. Like today. The library director is ordering pizza for all us drones...

Mmmm....pizza. We had to put big sheets of paper over the glass doors to keep the plebians from seeing us eat. Hee hee. One guy tried to come in while the woman was trying to put up the cover, she said. "But I just want to check my email!"

A kid who kills the tooth fairy? Hmmm.....I'm starting to feel another one of those smiley stories coming on.
No! Must...resist! NO!
(long inward struggle)
So....what happens to the child? Is it like "Riding a Pale Horse"? (Um, I've never read the book, but apparently the main character accidentally kills Death--there's irony--and must take on his job.)

*giggle* Give in to the smiley story.. You know you want to!
Plot Synopsis:
Kid has loose tooth. Kid's mum tells him about tooth fairy. Kid goes to school and tells other kid about tooth fairy. Kid 2 teases Kid 1 for believing in tooth fairy. Kid 1 hits Kid 2 with apple and gives him black eye. Kid 1 goes home and decides to get evidence of tooth fairy. After tooth is pulled, Kid 1 makes an elaborate trap for tooth fairy hooked up to a polaroid to get photo of her. Tooth fairy gives Kid 1 $$, is startled by toy robot and cuckoo clock, trips over photo tripwire, hits head on toy chest, and is smothered by stuffed animals. Kid 1 hides tooth fairy in closet and is scared. The End. (it's a short film) :D
