Ah....s are such wonderful things...as are email and telephone...and electronic photograph and video transmission...and all sorts of modern communication...I would curl up into a tiny position if I was left with only the postal service to transmit letters. It could be even worse, though. Imagine having to entrust letters to a guy on a horse...*shiver*

s are quite lovely.. I quite like Instant Messaging to be honest, when I can't see Chad.
Can you imagine? Like the Postman or whatever (the movie).. Eek. And if he dropped it, would you ever find out?
Thank Allah for technology.

Yes, primitive postal systems are quite frightening. Imagine a time *before* that, when we'd have to give a letter to a person going vaguely the right direction and hope they didn't burn it for warmth or get attacked by bandits....eek. This is one of the major things that snaps me back when I start dreaming about living in some happy little medieval fantasy world...
Thankful s and s,

Eek! Or even before that, when you couldn't know people who were far away from you.. That would be yucky. I would have missed out on knowing half the people I've known in my life..
I always think of how dirty the people were myself..

You're right! Lots of people I've met *only* through virtue of internet...eek again. I wonder how far we'll have to advance before what we're using is seen as primitive...?
Of course, just as now compared to the future, if we lived in Middle Earth or somewhere we wouldn't really know what we were missing. (And we might as *well* live in Middle-Earth, it's detailed enough...I'm sure if the technology had been more advanced Tolkein would have drawn up bus schedules for the Shire...)
Oh, yes, filth and disease are big factors now. A solution to that would be to make sure not to be a peasant, I guess. Though that's hardly a thing we have control over...

Zackly...
And here we go with this.. Hon, just because Tolkien had a detailed imagination, doesn't mean it was carp. (just teasing...)
Jeesh, I wouldn't be a pauper now if I could help it.. ;p Not that I am exactly, but ya know..

Okay, you're right, the books aren't , but you *know* Tolkein would have made those bus schedules. And he probably would have used them, too! "Frodo really wanted to leave the Shire right away with the Ring to escape the Nazgul, but there were no routes to Mordor until the next morning...so he was forced to flee on foot."

Oh, you *say* that...how can I trust you, huh? How do I know you're not some middle-age balding guy in Iowa putting on this elaborate online disguise? My mother warned me about people like this!
Oh, that was a good bit of fun.
What is this Mortimer? A bunny?

I didn't *mean* to post that blank one, I really didn't!
Very nice pictures, Bob. (Some are a bit LARGE! but that's just fine.) What an elaborate identity you've set up--complete with friends and family members. It makes me feel like I need more pictures on my site...
So...is this Jebediah a real or an online one? There are advantages to both. The real ones are so cute and fuzzy, but don't require as much food as the online ones...and won't fit in your pocket.
Wait, maybe I'll just look at your space and see if there's an explanation there...

JJ is a online bunny.. Crazy Man gave him to me and Quille named him. I love my JJ!! (Jebediah Jehosephat)
Yah they are big pictures.. but the "large" setting on tripod is just not big enough for my preferences.. Eventually i'll get it down to thumbnails that you can click to another screen.. or not, I'm pretty lazy..

Cass
ps.. Ohh la la a blank post!!

Oh, I see...there's JJ, right next to your spork...I think I got one of those too, but never used it. Scaled beasties don't use sporks, we use fingers! Or claws, sometimes.
Tomorrow I leave for San Francisco...I doubt I'll have much time to check the Guide; I don't even know if I'll have internet access. (It'll be like living as a caveman!) So that's why you won't be hearing from me for a week or so.

SPORK!! Hey, JJ is my WarBunny -- I just thought of that.. how neato!
OMG, Wes! You are going to be like 45 minutes away from me -- that is a crack up! And you probably won't even get this until you get back.. *shrug* But that's so cool! You'll be right close to me!! I hope you have fun!!
s and s,
Cassie from San Jose :p
