Not really that convenient for a one-day trip then? Mind you, we take the ferry at 10.30pm and don't arrive at le Havre until 7am, so that's more that 7 hours... I bet our tickets would cost rather less than yours thoug.
At present I'm steaming about the treatment I have had from the telephone company One.Tel. I'm thinking of putting in a formal complaint about them to their regulatory body.

!
Going on our trip to France yesterday reminded me of a previous trip to Ostend with my ex-husband and a couple of really good friends. We went out on a boat where there was all-night drinking (if you wanted that - the drinks were free!). We were with a group of his work colleagues. We were sensible with the drink and came ashore at 7.00am to have breakfast. One of his colleagues had to be carried off, as he'd really had a skin-full. We got landed with babysitting him for most of the day as his 'friends' sodded off and left him with us. At breakfast, we persuaded him to have some coffee and he tried to drink the ashtray.
Later, one of us said to him, 'Bet you won't do that again!' as he'd not really been able to enjoy the trip at all. He said, 'Bet I will!'. I felt really sorry for him.

That was one of the things about our trip to France. Watching a group of garishly hatted northerners (the were wearing red folt berets) drinking beer in the bar early in the morning while we were having breakfast. They were probably on the 'beer and gigarettes' run. We just brought back good memories.

i don't like the taste of beer and i don't smoke, so i've been on that run.
