YOu've been waiting all year to say that haven't you?
Great Intro!

I could believe it!
So how goes it? Do the Chinese celebrate the 1st Jan, or do they wait...or do they celebrate both?
Great Intro!
beanfoto Posted Jan 14, 2003
Yes, the elite certainly celebrate it,but it's nothing compared with Chinese New Year, ( Properly, the Spring Festival), which I will see here, and achieve a long time ambition to spend it with the Chinese, in China.
My love life gets more and more complicated...

Sorry, I've just simplified it by telling 3 of them my terms of reference. One did stay tho', and is talking of marriage while I speak of my problems with getting a divorce quickly.
I do love her, and the relationship with her is fairly straightforward except for the divorce bit. Angling to spend the Spring festival, ( Chinese New Year), with her family, get my feet under the table, and suss out the potential resistance to her living with me.
There's still the Married lady tho'. What does she want from me?
( To be continued....)

She's staying most nights, we're talking about how to get her elder sister a husband, ( in China sisters should marry in D.O.B. order), and We're engaged! Buying the ring today, (14th), I hope.

It cost me 180 quid, and a loss of temper when she spent two hours choosing between the two , ( Bean recommended), rings.
(In China, the concept of ring sizes does exist, but the concept of actually stocking rings in more than one size apparently does not...).

I loved the aftermath more...
It is when you're on a Chinese salary, but I only seem to spend money on food, a few clothes,DVDs and CDs, so I had it in the bank.
But perhaps soon I will have to buy things for an apartment and do the full nest building bit...
Which could be a pain when we want to travel...

friendlywithteeth Posted Mar 2, 2003
Well can't you travel first and then build a nest?

I want to, she doesn't.
So far, I'm winning.
(long delay in replying due to changing jobs, moving, ( here, the two will usually go together), and personal problem, (big and painful boil on me ***).

You should worry, here they closed down the Internet cafes due to the fear of SARS, ( ALMOST NO CASES HERE, BUT THIS COUNTRY RUNS TO BEIJING TIME...)
