h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Hi and welcome to h2g2.
My name is Galaxy Babe and I am an Assistant Community Editor (ACE) and also a Guardian Angel for fun!
Just one of a group of researchers who like to meet, greet and hopefully befriend newcomers to the guide.
There are plenty of things to do around the Guide, from chatting in forums to writing your own Guide entries.
If you wish to see the Guide entries I have written, please click on my name and you will be taken to my personal space, where the entries are recorded.
You can also visit http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/PeerReview where you can read prospective entries, and add your comments if you wish.
Constructive critisism is always welcomed!
As you travel round, you will find more and more interesting things.
Do not worry about getting lost, you can always return "home" by clicking on the "My Space" button on each page.
Every conversation you take part in will be listed on your page, these are your "threads". Every time someone posts after you, the thread will be refreshed on your page.
You can then return and reply if you wish.
When you no longer wish to participate in a particular conversation, you can click the "unsubscribe" link just below it, and the thread will be removed from your page. Then click on "my space" to return home.

Hi thanks for the welcome still learning how to drive this thing ! I keep thinking it's going to crash dive into the heart of a blazing sun and sometimes think it has.

Got an idiot sheet in front of me listing some of the smilies, so my comprehension of conversations is slow and limited, but we are getting there, I think?

Looks like you're doing just fine
The smileys come naturally after a while
I wrote them all out too, and I still have the latest ones written out.
Practise makes perfect

I;m yelling pulled up the smiles, printed out twice, but only got first and last page.

Started writing but gave up, Marvin was bugging me!

Try saving the page to your local hard drive, and print it when you are offline.

( I am figuring you tried printing while online ?)

If you have a graphics editor, you can save yourself some ink by removing the extraneous graphics.

I saved the entire smiley page to my hard drive this way:

(I am using MSIE 5.5) From the File Menu, choose File > Save As...
and give it a name if you don't like the default. Make sure you know *where* the file will save on your disk. Save it as a 'Web page, complete, (*.htm, *.html)' This will save the entire page, with a subfolder for all the graphics currently on the page, including all the smileys

Then you can view, edit, or print the whole thing offline..

I believe Netscape will do the same thing, but the procedure may be a little different.

Taliesin, went through all sorts of avenues got her in doors to sort it out, went ere there and! well you know the rest! loaded to here saved it to there, pasted and the sorted it. Now got full print out of Smilies and to my misses.
