Hi B4!

That is a very good question... I'm basically just subscribed to lots of journals and, of those, paulh and Dmitri are the ones that post regularly... smiley - thepost might be a good place to look. I don't know what Ask is looking like these days. I just know that, in general (conversation-wise), it seems pretty quiet. I mean, there was the Pooh sticks competition, but you already knew that smiley - winkeye The Front Page updates weekly, so there's plenty to read, but that's not conversation...

Oh! I just realized--my trip to the UK happened while you were gone! You can read about it at A87897820 if you like... I did the travelogue as that year's NaJoPoMo, so it's spread out as 30 threads hanging off the A page, but I did organize it so that the dates can be followed in order. I didn't compile them into an entry, because I'd done an Entry that way before, and it was a pain in the pick-a-body-part.

You know what's really funny? You were visiting the UK during the same time I was visity Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Poland.
smiley - suitcase
I was there with my (ex)spouse in order to follow the refugee trek of my Oma and the 3 girls (my Mom being the middle child), from Goldap, Poland (then East Prussia), to Sassnitz / Rugen in Germany, then down to Celle, where they were reunited with Opa, who'd been conscripted to work in the Luftwaffe as an aircraft mechanic. Oma and the girls narrowly avoided death upon the Wilhelm Gustloff, by being diverted to one of the Kriegsmarine's ultra-quiet Type XXI U-boats to take them to safety.

"The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy is a wholly remarkable book. It has been compiled and recompiled many times and under many different editorships. It contains contributions from countless numbers of travellers and researchers."
