There was actually a little rain yesterday, so it's back to sticky humid today... smiley - yuk

Only supposed to get up to 80 today (26C) although that's probably an gross underestimation, but with this humidity, it'll feel like we're living in soup. Already feels that way, and it's only 71 (22C) out there...But with 88% humidity, the heat index is already 77 (25C)

You are welcome to our heat, and please take the humidity with you too!

Reminds me of a fish I had at Uni.... I didn't have a cover for the fish tank so sometimes I'd come back from class and find him flopping around on the floor in the dust. I'd always just pick him up and toss him back in the tank, and he'd be fine. smiley - fish

This went on for quite some time, until one time I'd been gone for a weekend or a break of several days and after much searching found him all dried up behind my desk. smiley - yuk

ohh....sorry to hear that

it is Dutch expression:
if some feels "like a fish on dryland" it means some one uncomfertable.

Yes, I know....

Our Amish spent some time in the Netherlands before coming to the US a couple of centuries ago (which is why the locals called their language Pennsylvania Dutch, even though they were originally from Germany), and while they were there obviously picked up some Dutch sayings, bringing them to this country with them. smiley - ok

The Amish? I think you mean Quakers, but I am not sure. I learned that Philadelphia was founded by Quakers, I think. it was over 20 yrs ago that I learned that.
