Oh, and Lady Scott...*doffs hat*... may I suggest mam that liking valentines day as nothing to do with a penchant for the geometry and hue of the heart as depicted in western culture, and everything to do being a romantic .
And for all you cynics out there remember: Some people are born romantic, some people achieve romancticism, and others have romance thrust upon them

YOu know all? in that case could you explain to me how matter in this universe is really just a vibration of a super string in 11 dimensions?

See I was watching a program on tv about M theory last night, and their quite a few instances where I had difficulty visualising what was going on

It is difficult visualising in more than three dimensions. I usually imagine three of them and pretend the rest look similar. This method came unstuck when the torus was described as the cartesian product of two circles. You really need four dimensions for that (I know it can be argued by using the normal embedding in 3-space, but the book needed a bit more than that).

Superstring theory is supposed to do just that, being the most popular Theory Of Everything at the moment. Who's presenting the programme?

I can cope with visualising 4 dimensions - turning space through 90 degrees so that you can only "see" two of those dimensions, then adding another on, and iteration of this process allows me in spaced out moments to conceptualise 5 and 6 dimensions eventually, but 11?
