I thought it'd be better to discuss this some place else besides the Iraq site - we're choking up the page with back and forth accusation and denial, and it gets boring after a while.

First of all, if you have a problem with what Starbirth said, that's between you and him/her. I spoke up because I felt that Empty was doing Starbirth an injustice. He's never apologized for his statement, and still doesn't realize what he did wrong. Starbirth's reaction seemed justified, from that perspective. I see from Empty's protests that he didn't actually mean what he said - it just came out wrong. But it's up to him, not me, to resolve that issue with Starbirth.

I'm not anybody's mommy! If you or Empty have a problem with Starbirth's comments, go right ahead, speak up, and have it out with him. If I felt that Starbirth acted unjustly, then I'd say something. I would hope that if I acted unjustly, somebody would tell me! I know that both you and Empty think that Starbirth spoke out of turn. If Empty were to apologize for his earlier comment, and Starbirth responded with a spiteful, hateful post, then I would 'castigate' Starbirth. It's as simple as that.

I know you've commented on my 'favoritism.' Because I always stick up for the Americans? Don't be ridiculous. I want you to understand that the reason I spoke up is because I had a problem with your behavior and Empty's behavior, not because you're from someplace besides the U.S. Heck - I don't even know where you're from! Is it New Zealand?

If you look at the last ten LED's on the post list, you'll see that Empty has been - for the most part - on the same page as me politically. Where he and I differ is that he thinks Bush engineered 9/11, while I do not.

So if you'd like to continue this discussion, that'd be fine. Let's just have it here on your page, or on mine, if you like. I really think both you and Empty are great guys, and it bothers me that your behavior sometimes doesn't reflect that.

My problem with your lack of balance stems from something much further back wich started when I was a newbie. I'm not good at searching this site and so there is little chance of me finding it.

It is a shame because I agree with alot, not everything, of what you've said. I ignore the sometimes patronising manner.

I had posted this mainly for Empty's benefit, but I wanted to talk to you as well. I hate leaving conversations unfinished, but the Iraq thread was the wrong place for it!

Starbirth had said some words about you which were unkind - I thought you were referring to those, earlier. I don't really want to be a peacemaker - I'm not cut out for it, I get impatient, and my temper can get the best of me, sometimes. So if you think that Starbirth's comments deserve reproach, go right ahead - that's all I was trying to say.

Re: Lack of balance Hmm... I try to be balanced, and not patronize others, but it's very difficult. Especially on this site, when emotions run high and issues are very heated. I can promise that I will always *try* to think fairly... as always, if you think I'm not looking at a situation with a clear head, speak up. Searching the site is difficult - and I've got a slow connection at the house, so a lot of times, I end up getting online here at work. The Iraq thread is so long that there's probably no point in trying to look, anyway - but if you could give me some nonspecific examples, that'd be cool.

I suppose I tend to patronize you because you sometimes make comments which only serve to aggravate the problem. I know - you're upset too, and saying the first thing that comes to mind.

If you see me talking before I think, by all means, say something to me - whether it's on the thread, or at my page.
