h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Thought I'd swing past your space and check it out, rather than keep posting to St Mungo's conversations in his absence. I used to love the Goodies, did you see Bill Oddie on "This Is Your Life" the other week? I don't know how they got him on, because he was flatly refusing to do it at the start.

I remember a couple of poems from a Goodies book I had when I was about 13 - 14....

I have a dog with seven paws,
With bloodshot eyes and savage jaws,
He often eats weetabix for tea.
If you say it isn't true,
I'll set my dog on you,
And he'll bite your bloody leg off, just you see.

Absolutely not I'm afraid. I've got no idea what happened to it either, which is a great shame. I was going through - putting some old albums away the other day, when I came upon e few Monty Python offerings.... The Matching Tie and Handkerchief, The Instant Record Collection, and I think - Another Monty Python Record.

I remember one of them has two grooves cut on one side, so sometimes when you play it, you hear one load of sketches, and the next time you hear something completely different!!

i have three Goodies books: The Goodies File, The Goodies Book Of Criminal Records and The Making Of the Goodies Disaster Movie.

Monty Python is very grooverous too!

i have Another Monty Python Record, The Monty Python Contractual Obligation Album, Monty Python Live at Drury Lane and another one which i really can't remember now

the one with 2 grooves sounds brilliant!

It was actually very confusing 'till I worked out what was going on....

It appears I got confused by some road markings a little earlier on - got away without hitting anything though

do the exact opposite that road markings tell you.

it makes life alot easier

I gave a lift to a guy that doesn't drive the other day. We were pootling along and he was saying for a small car, mine is brill.... then suddenly goes all tense and says don't we stop for RED LIGHTS then. I had to explain that this one was for the lane to our right.

There was a tail ender at the same junction this morning. Some chap gone into the back of another. Must have happened on the previous cycle oth the lights to when I got there - how could I tell - there wasn't a massive bunch of other driver having a good look!!
