Ahhh what would be do without temping!

Live a life of leisure at the tax payers expense? Write the first great Anglo Saxon novel of the twenty first century? Finally tidy away my clean clothes? I can think of plenty.

I am sorry, Toc and I hope that something turns up soon.

No1 son is ~still~ temping, nearly two years after leaving Uni.

I wonder if he will ever get a proper job

At this rate H and I will have to leave home

I am on the reserve list for the first Uni job, Zan. But have applied for others.

A friend who also temps has dropped off an application form that looks interesting for an administrator job, so I shall get that off as well.

The Boss was ok, we talked things through, and basically the brewery cannot afford to pay what we agreed was a fair wage Still I didn't burn any bridges and he will call me when (if) the company is ready to expand

Still, I take it as a sign that during today's (my last) brew, the ceiling fell on my head!

Please do write. You are so special. You were always so good to me, and I feel as if I have let you down terribly when I was searching.

Things have turned out so well. I am so relieved and feel that at last K. is going to be able to be able to live on his own and at peace with himself. And most, of all, be happy and creative.

Please do let me know how you are and what you are doing. And if you would prefer me not to write, I shall abide, unwillingly, with your decision.

I do hope that you ahve found a suitable rewarding job.

Two years ago you were all on a canal boat. Now you appear to be scattered over the UK. I hope that the ceiling falling down was a sign that you were embarking on a new career explosivly!!.

I will take the liberty of replying from us all as we have all disappeared from h2g2 for the time being....

Zantic is very busy with her pHd. Things seem to be looking up results-wise there, and there's even a foreign trip in the offing if things continue to go well. I'm reliably informed by everyone I know who's done one of these that the frantic panicking is perfectly natural

Munchkin is, as you are probably aware, running a convention here in Glasgow in a couple of weeks , and so is running around in a daze hoping it will all go well. The rest of us have no doubt that it will be a fantastic weekend for all concerned.

Toccata is running around similarly, getting things organised as only she can

As for me, well I'm recently back from a fantastic trip to New Zealand where I climbed a volcano, hiked up a glacier, went jet boating and generally had the trip of a lifetime. I confess I haven't painted in a while, but I have two (count them!) commissions right now so the sideline is finally taking off. I just need to find time from the day job to do them!!

It's not likely I'll be in London for the meet, but I know Munchkin and Toccata are talking about it and I'm sure Zantic can be bullied into visiting with old friends.

I will be seeing everyone tomorrow night in the pub (where else? ) so I will pass on your regards and tell them all to get writing to you!!!!

Thank you sooo much for the update. I really appreciated hearing all your news.

It would be really wonderful to see you all at the meet. I really do hope that you make it. I just have to get someone to trundle me - hopefully I can "bully" someone from Sevenoaks, or even my eldest son who took me last time and then sat under the trees reading that strange pink newspaper!!.

Your adventures in New Zealand sound quite wonderful. And you love rock climbing. I would be far too frightened to do it. Apart from which I suffer from vertigo!!. So pleased about the commissions. Bring your camera and you can get snapping away for what you need on July 10th! Even though you say it is "not likely" that you will be able to make it. !

Here's hoping that you will all come, and good luck to the job seeker, to dearest Zantic and of course to Munchkin for his conference, and do have a round of the best Scottish tipple on me tonight.!!

Sorry to have not responded in a while, but TPC there gave a very good synopsis of what we have all been up to. Sadly there is no chance of Toc or myself getting down to the summer meet. Just too much stuff to do including a few expensive things that will curtail us for a while. Still, I have my eye on the Winter meet when that comes round as all things should be a bit more settled by then. Have fun at the meet and say hello to people for me.
