Keen beans.

I think I had written you some time ago, back in the day (okay, three weeks or so ago), but it seems you have moved, for all intents and purposes, over here for conversation... So I will follow, because you're rather interesting.

Anyway, I'm on a search for a link to somewhere, so I'm searching through all the links I have to people's spaces, and thusly reminding myself who in the name of Jim Henson they all are. smiley - smiley

Anyway, um, I think I had some sort of reason for posting, but honestly, I can't remember it, so I'll stop rambling here.

Not to worry. I've been out of Guide commission for some time; I'm beginning to lose memory of who everyone is. A few days straight on the Guide and that should clear up no problem. smiley - smiley

I was looking for the Superheroes and Supervillains pages; Dastardly helped me out though and I found them. Finally.

Anyway, now that I'm sort of back, what have you been up to? I've been setting up wireless networks and having some degree of success, which is odd, because I can't even get two computers to talk over an ethernet network with a hub.

_Playing_ Discworld? I'm *watching* Discworld, but I didn't know you could play it....

And I've been bad and away for a long time again. Me bad bunny. But I got back into checking e-mail, so I'm more likely to be on frequently.

I'm trying to juggle classes, quilting, reading a few books, playing multiplayer games over the 'net, work, and ...something else, I'm sure... at the same time, and unfortunately my connection is slow. smiley - sadface

Sorry, sorry.... backlog monster loomed up and bit me....

Yes; Cosgrove-Hall (the Danger Mouse people) animated a couple of the Discworld books. We have Soul Music; I know Wyrd Sisters is out there too. Soul Music is good stuff. Very entertaining. smiley - smiley

ooo, one of my favorites in the series, although they are all good of course, Soul Music, that is. have not seen the animated, not sure i would want to as it would not look the way i picture it.

Backlog smiley - monster again...

Yes, yes, Discworld.... Well, I haven't gotten far enough in the series yet to read Soul Music, but I'm noticing that every one who does any visual representation of any part of Discworld or its characters has a *very different* spin on things... The only thing that stays remotely the same is Great A'Tuin. Even Death changes....

No, Soul Music is very funny indeed and touts Christopher Lee as the voice of Death. Death of Rats is very cute-looking in the movie. I think they had to alter some things lsightly, and they probably left others out, because Terry Pratchett has a distinct writing style, much of which cannot be translated into image. But it's very entertaining, and has a kick-ass soundtrack (which I ordered recently because I got addicted to the music). The DVD features Terry Pratchett talking about how he loved working with the animators, and how he wanted to steal a copy of the soundtrack when they weren't sure yet whether or not to release it.

My, I'm wordy for having not checked my backlog for 4 months....smiley - huh

hmmm... afraid i'm a purist when it comes to movies-from-books. But, well, if Pratchett Himself is actually involved in it, they wouldn't have mangled it...
