Howdy all, I am amukinak, the last of the sane travellers in Western Alaska. I work as a Public Health Nurse, responsible for six Inupiat and Yupi'k villages. I love Alaska, due as much to the instability of its citizenry as the admittedly incredible landscape. The hermit lifestyle is not only acceptable here, you'll end up with a dozen locals on your couch claiming that they are there to help with 'yer hermiting'. You have to love it.
