Dragonfly. "A poet can survive everything but a misprint"-- Oscar Wilde Posted Apr 29, 2002
All is fairly well with me, except I am tired and I think the women who I am meant to "look up to" in this family are anglo, pro-U.S, anti-immigrant, anti-poor people. It's really depressing. At least not all of them believe that there's only one path to God... I'd have to disown them if they were as narrow about spirituality as they seem to be about the foreign-born....
But you probably read that already.... heh!!!
I WILL get over it... I don't have to be like them and I'm not!!!
Ummm.... yeah... I want to tell you about Not-Ottox because I felt hurt when I read it... I come from a family of teasers... I got yelled at about a month ago when I tried to tease my boss a little... he was in a CRANKY mood and I wanted to make the atmosphere a bit lighter and brighter.
Nothing worse than trying to cheer or amuse and then getting the feeling you have offended someone...

I always felt that Ottie was a little too sensitive to teases so I've tried to get him used to me by what else...
...teasing him even more than most.
So to hear that family is still giving you
Just try and focus on their good sides and keep being an example of tollerance for them to follow. I feel I've changed my Father that way, it just took 20 years.

That's what I thought.
Then.
Now I just hope the next twenty years aren't that fast.
(Though my dad had a heart attack 18 years ago, so I guess these years have all been a bonus!)

Wow. I was just going to explain that twenty years probably won't happen because MY dad had a heart attack almost two years ago....

That's strange.
My Dad had a 2nd heart attack yesterday and we don't know yet the extent of the damage.
It's awful sitting here at work not knowing what's going on. But my Mother said to wait to take time off until we know more. Ugh.

The doctor's finally said it wasn't a heart attack, it was gall stones, but the gall bladder attack put strain on his weakened heart which is why the nitro worked. He needs an operation, but refused it and checked himself out. He's afraid with his health he won't come out of an operation successfully. A valid concern, but he might not survive another gall stone attack especially if it gets to the duct.
Parents can be just like kids!

That was always my compliment and my put-down.
It seemed when I was dating the girls were always looking for bad-boys not good kids! I was always a girl's mothers favorite which would immediately rule me out!

It was all in the great plan of Eros...because it kept me available to meet the love of my life when I was 23. Still together for almost 20 years! (poor Elwoodina)
