Elbow Yangle (and the case for boys in eyeliner) Posted Apr 18, 2002
Boy, we're sounding very intellectual all of a sudden aren't we. Cna we move on to better things now, like Shakespeare:
"I'd rather be a toad in the dankest dungeon,
then keep a corner in the thing I love,
for others uses..."

"You would fall backwards had you wit enough to do so!"
Yet another fantastic Shakespearian insult! He rocked!

Don't worry, I could keep going for hours:
"You, sir, are a fishmonger!"
"You're a fusty nut with no kernal"
"You painted maypole! You theirf of love!"
"You cancerblossom, you puppet you!"
"You are a senator!!"
etc etc...need I go on?
I can do serious Shakespeare quotes too you know.

most of the serious ones are a little (or a lot) disturbing. take titus andronicus for example. the whole rape of lavinia thing was just *sick*. then there was othello. less sick, but still disturbed - except for , "do not think sir that i am drunk..." etc. cassio: a class act.
so... funny:
"Asses are made to bear, and so are you." - The Taming of the Shrew
"He thinks too much. Such men are dangerous." - Julius Caesar
but you know who i love? oscar wilde. he rocks.
"whenever i feel like exercise, i always lie down until the feeling passes"
or
"i can resist anything except temptation"

"whenever people agree with me, i always feel i must be wrong"

Cant beat old Oscar for entertainment value. I like the lesser known comedians, such as Emily Bronte. Who would have guessed it?
"A guest who is safe from repeating his visit can generally be made welcome!"

just cos you have a wuthering heights fixation...
ooh, how about tolkein?
"neither age nor an enormous dinner had clouded his wits" (FOTR)
and of course,
"where are you, you wooly-footed slow-coach? nob!"

You see, if you had posted that on the OTHER conversation it would have made much more sense.
M: by way of explanation... we had a bbq on the beach on Friday, and I had sandals, nice shiny new nail polish and a toering... so the plan was footflirting. I failed. Hmph.

Exactly. See you would have understood that so much better if a certain Ms. YANGLE had stuck to the original quotes thing and not to something that was *so* not relevant.

That's such an 80s-ism!
