I usually plant pumpkins and squashes the first week in June, but I've planted the seeds indoors in peat pots today: 8 zucchini seeds, 10 Jack be Little pumpkin seeds, and 10 Golden nugget pumpkins seeds.

One week later, none of the seeds is up yet. My experience is that the first seeds start poking through the soil after 6 or 7 days. After nine days, only two of the 40+ bean seeds that I planted outdoors have come up so far. I expect that the cause is the cool nights we've been having lately.

Yeah, it's been chilly here, too. We're keeping that potted lily in the garage until it makes up its mind.

Good luck with the pumpkins and squashes, I hope you will get a good crop.I have very little experience in gardening and my previous experience of has not been a total failure. I have some indoor plants pots where I have put some seeds to grew herbs but only one of the four pots have been a success. So far what looks like small strands of very short grass has appeared in the centre pot.

I'm raising asters, marigolds, and zinnias in round planters this Spring. I have4 them in a nice sunny spot, and they seem to love it. Blossoms are probably about a month away.
