Hi Paul:

I remembered about my page on here awhile back.
smiley - doh

How are you?

Hi Paul:

Post 2

I'm fine! Except for my knee, which is sore and crampy. I figure a week of rest will give it a chance to heal.

Oh smiley - erm, sorry about the knee.

Sounds like a plan.

I have to go back to cramming for a cumulative comprehensive exam in organic chemistry. smiley - footinmouth
But great to hear from you.

I never got past ordinary high school chemistry, which was mighty hard smiley - yikes. Are you studying to be a smiley - doctor?

Yes. It's pretty crazy stuff. All the in between bits in brackets that are transition forms they told you to ignore before, the intermediates, they matter now.

Got me to thinking reason why they call 'em "mad scientists" is having to memorize so many mechanisms can make a person kinda grouchy or loopy a bit.

Hi Paul:

I think the concept of mad scientists comes from people's discomfort in the presence of people who know so much. Plus, scientists often have a hard time describing what they know so that the layman can understand. What comes out sounds like madness. smiley - weird

Hi Paul:

Post 7

Thorn

It can be frustrating to try and boil some of the harder bits down into a format that's understandable to a layperson.
smiley - headhurts

Well, I'd say I'm more of an angry scientist than a mad one.
smiley - laugh

Hi Paul:

Post 8

Thorn

But now that I've finished my last exam I'm not so sure what to do.
Maybe go fishing or nap?
Nap sounds good.

Hi Paul:

Post 9

A nap is usually a good option if you can manage it. smiley - smiley

Speaking of which, it's almost 11 p.m. here. smiley - yawn

Hi Paul:

A sleepy paul.

Hi Paul:

Post 13

paulh, vaccinated against the Omigod Variant

Not any more, or at least not as sleepy. The skies are gray. There's a huge snowstorm coming, thohgh my area will get *only* 4 to 8 inches. Some areas in Maryland and Pennsylvania and New York will get up to 20 inches. smiley - yikes

Hi Paul:

Post 14

The Valley I live in is below sea level so at most maybe on the mountaintops we'll get a little but I don't predict any snow. Once in awhile we do get hail though.

If you went fishing, what would be the nearest lake that has smiley - schooloffish?

Hi Paul:

Post 16

Thorn

Without methyl mercury deposits from mining? Not lake cunningham.
Maybe Lake Tahoe...
:O

Hi Paul:

Post 17

Lake Cunningham is in San Jose, Calif. Lake Tahoe is near Reno, Nevada. Sounds as if you're in central California.... I can imagine why you wouldn't get much snow.

Hi Paul:

Post 18

Thorn

Yes. There are other lakes. I just jump around the Bay Area a bunch. Yesterday I was in Oakland. Last month SF some.

Hi Paul:

Post 19

Thorn

I just remember Cunningham better for some reason.
Manmade I think.

Hi Paul:

Post 20

I like the Bay area a lot. My sister lived in Oakland for three years in the sixties when her husband was stationed at Treasure Isle. I've gone back as a tourist a few times since. I love the Japanese Tea Garden in GGlden Gate Park.
