I'm now safely back from my brother's house, where the whole family got together for a very large meal and gift exchanging. My brother had an artificial tree for the first time ever, as his wife's asthma seems to be aggravated by real trees. Where he's going to store the tree between Christmases I don't know. It's ten feet tall, and very bulky. He has a space in the basement where he thinks it'll fit, but I'm dubious. I've suggested that he leave the tree where it is now, and just hang holiday-appropriate items on it as the year goes by: Golliwogs for Martin Luther King Day (Jan. 16), cherry pies (George Washington's birthday), valentines and hearts (Valentine's Day, Feb. 14), Easter eggs at Easter, little flags on Fourth of July, and so forth. Maybe he could become famous for starting a trend. I told my sister-in-law that I leave my tiny artificial Christmas trees on display year-round. Of course, my house desperately needs sprucing up anyway.

I was at my brother's house today (just about to download my photos from my camera to my hard-drive and then to my Fotki site. However, there are a LOT of them, so it will take a LONG time.
