But why execrable? There is a certain art to puns that push the edge of the envelope. I guess Steve Martin was right when he said that comedy isn't pretty. Still, comedy is prettier than tragedy. Sometimes humor is what helps get us through tragedy as well. There were some interestingly morbid jokes about Princess Diana's death....

I meant it in the best possible way....

I think the ablility to pun successfully is the mark of a quick wit, someone able to think on their feet -- a very admirable trait. The bigger the groan, the better the pun was. Believe me, your puns are definitely groan-worthy.
