fishheads, fishheads, rolly polly fishheads

I've decided to paint the cottage. I can't decide on what colour. I think I might consult the people from the indigo bottle. Oh. You don't know about them, do you? I've met a few of them. They don't often visit. And my neighbours aren't too happy when I mention these people. Actually the indigo people look normal except when you see them in the direct sunlight. There is something about their eyes and they are unusually quiet. The dogs adore them. That in itself is odd. Asha and Griffin like only Kate, you and myself. For them to take to others is strange to me. The people are friendly enough. I'm sure that you would like them a lot. No, they aren't blue. But they can play the most amazing music. One of them promised to help me with the guitar. I can use the help. I seem to have too many fingers that don't seem to listen to me. I'll see of any of them will come by when you here. I'm sure that we'll find some great treasure after tide and we can all have supper by the bonfire.
I hope that you are in good health. I've seem to be a bit under the weather lately. Kate says it's because I'm sulking about something and that always makes me slightly ill. I think it's because I spend too much time alone with the dogs. I sometimes forget how to talk. The dogs seem to hear my thoughts and no longer need voice commands. Not that I command them. They seem to have chosen to stay with me.
You know what funny. When I say your name their ears prick up. I have to make sure that I don't tease them about you coming over. And the flowers seem to remember you. What have you done to my land?

One of these days I'll tell you the poem I wrote in the sand about you.

Affectionately yours,

thunderclouds in the distance

So that same day I came across a large black trunk. You know, the old fashioned steamer trunks. Actually I was slowly walking down the beach and Asha found it. I don't know what Griffen was doing. We lost sight of him awhile ago. Asha barks up a storm at this black box half stuck in the sand. She had a good head start in digging it out. I helped her and we soon had the thing out. I couldn't i open it. The water had rusted the lock shut. So I hunted around for a trusty rock to smash it open. Of course I couldn't find one. I quickly found out that big stick just don't smash hard objects very well. Especially if it's driftwood. I should have thought like you and had a tool on me.

It took some time to haul it up the hill to the house. I left it there and went inside to look for something hard. I'm glad I listened to you and bought some tools. There were just were you left them last. They reminded me of that nice shelf we made together. So I hurried outside with my trusty hammer excited by the event of found treasure.
I was just about to start smashing the lock open when a thought hit me.

What if I don't open it? What if I just imagine what's inside.

So I sat with the dogs and watched the sunset. The trunk is still unopened. Kate is in town getting stuff for dinner. I hope that you like fish. It's her idea to cook them on the beach tonight.

Affectionately yours,

On the other hand.

Someone said I was anti social. I replied that just because I have this strange need to move to the middle of nowhere with my miniature human and a pack of semi wild dogs, doesn't mean that I'm anti social. Then I smacked them in the head. Well, not really. I gave them a withering look and turned slightly away.

But I'm not anti social. That would imply that I didn't have friends and didn't answer the phone. I have 3 friends and I don't answer the phone because I have dial up service and I sometimes forget to unplug the phone line from the computer to the phone.

I like to think of myself as solitary. Sounds almost romantic.

Although I guess I should work on smiling more. It might help me meet people. Here... smiley - smiley how's that? Better?
