Captain Kebab

I just dropped by to see your new intro. It's good, it tells people quite a lot about yourself and means that anybody who comes across you in a conversation and wants to drop by and say hello has an idea of what you are into, without giving out your full name and address to the world wide web!. For example, I already knew you were interested in railways and liked real ale - now I know we have similar taste in music.

You asked if I think anything needs to be added or altered - it's *your* space, and it's not for me or anybody else to tell you what to say - all I'd point out is that the last sentence in brackets doesn't read right - too many 'at times'. smiley - smiley

Ultimately you decide what you want to say about yourself, bearing in mind that h2g2 is a public website and anybody in the world with internet access can read it.

Some researchers deliberately don't tell you anything, preferring you to get to know them through what they say in conversations, which is fair enough. Others go into intimate detail about their private lives, which I'm not sure is a good idea, especially if you're at all vulnerable. And some people make stuff up.

I've tended to do much what you have done - I've steered a middle course and listed some of my interests and given an indication of where and who I am. And there's no need to go in for a load of formatting or pictures unless you particularly want to - as you have only limited internet access you probably wouldn't want to spend the time on it anyway. Anyhow, I think it's fine as it is! smiley - biggrin

Thanks for the comments CK.Must admit it was a bit of a rush job, hence the minor hiccups.Have also given my space a title which has been adapted from part of the old Tiswas show.(Whatever happened to Sally James?)

Hope to have a few chats with you in the future about our mutual interests.

Vaguely remember Hopalong Cassidy and Rawhide but not the others,REBEL-WOLF.Can remember an American series called Hiram Holiday - a sit-com I think - which would have been on at about the time The Addams Family and The Munsters were popular.
