Help! Help! I'm a wannabe Brit trapped in a Canadian's body!

Well, who isn't really.

Ok, if I must put something here, there's no use being original and seciding to make use of this space for productive purposes. Instead I shall conform, lemming-like, to the norm, and tell you all about me. Or at least that which I can remember.

I have always believed that the more on experiences in life, the beter a person that makes them. this is why I have volunteered in a Hospice for terminal cancer patients, worked at a theme park, and been the Chairperson of the Mount Royal Colelge Student's Council. this is why I have taken general studies instead of a degree program - any varied experience I am subjected to now will eventually come helpfully into play when I do chose and occupation. Important lessons are taught by both the magnificent and the miniscule. I know how it feels to be a fast food worker on a hot day, busy beyond belief, and suddenly asked to make a custom sandwich of a new batch of fries by a customer who feels they are more important than everyone else in the line. I know what it is like to be fresh out of high school, and enter a college where people will act friendly and helpful, even though they don't know me and may not like my choice of fashion. I chose to try downhill skiing to see what all the fuss was about, and ended up with a much more rewarding experience - I broke my hip. throuh that event I experienced pain, unwavering kindness, and what it's loike to have reduced mobility in a college. Each and every experience I have been a part of has helped me change and grow as a person, and I am the better for it. I strive to sympathize, if not empathize with all the wonderful people around me. I want to be able to say to my grandchildren that I experienced life to the fullest, and have no regrets.

Ever since I was very young, I have had an intense love for British history and culture. And ever since I visited London on Travel club in grade 11, I have known I have to make it back some day. My addiction to Britain is made clear in everything from the rows of British Humour books lining my shelves, to the Britcoms, Science Fiction, and Mystery series I watch every day. From the courses in linguistics, anthropology, and archaeology I have taken at college to discover more of British history and culture, right down to the Union Jack on the wall of my room. I have done science fair projects on Stonehenge and the other stone and wooden circles. I have participated in Medieval Feasts, and I have presended a seminar on the High Middle Ages. I think in a (rather poorly done) British accent. Believe it or not, once I even managed to eat Redy-Brek, and Vegemite on toast.

I love my Hanspring Visor Deluxe. It keeps me abreast of everything I have to do, and hold everything from eBooks and Travel Guides to games and word processors. And it's infinitely expandible with it's handspring module slot. I think, in keeping with the spirit of the guide, there should be a way to access H2G2 entirely from my Handspring Visor without having a wireless internet connection, because they are too damn expensive. Hey guys! What a great idea! (he said hinting that the brilliant H2G2 staff make this miracle come true...)

So now that that's over, here's the typical chat-room-style summary of my life.

Born: October 1, 1982

Sex: Male

Appearance: 6', blue eyes, blond hair, average build.

Music: Again, nearly anything. Dance, Trance, Rave, Alternative, Rock, Punk, Metal, Sixties, Seventies, Eighties pop, Oldies, New Age, the list goes on.

RPG system of choice: GURPS

Current Projects: College. I'm also writing some books; The Adventure (a sci-fi/fantasy inspired by an RPG system I was running, designed to make people think out of the box), and Lady Madonna (a space-colonization novel I started for an Astronomy project. Yes, when it's finished I DO intend to ask whoever I need to for permission to name all the chapters after Beatles songs). My music (various genres, I'll have to continue work when I can figure out how to hook my Rolan EM-10 back up to my Mac G4 while avoiding the use of Opcode's OMS and staying within a student's budget. Yeah, right.). My homepage (an exhaustive list and description of every book, movie, or music group I've ever enjoyed, plus my original works).

Home page: Sporadic. I run my own server and it's only on 60% of the time, but my page is hosted there until I can find a good site that will host a gigantic web site for free and not give me any banners. Oh, and let me know if you see any flying pigs. You can try visiting Mad.Hatter.com and see if it is currently working.

Well, that's all I've got to say.
