I'm a fan of Star Trek, Stargate & h2g2.
The numbers are your user number.
Jeremy used a mathematical process {like in my name} to make the magical number 42.
Which is the most magical number ever.
The smiley faces are just ways in which we express ourselves.
If you would like to know how to type them, and have a look at all the ones you can make in your posts, then just click on one.

Are you a fan of Q, too? He's the best Star Trek villian. What's your favorite h2g2 quote, Star Trek episode, and Stargate episode?
U171140 => 42
Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Apr 12, 2001
Oh, Q is without doubt the best Star Trek villain ever.
I've even read the books with him in.
Stargate: Body & Soul. The alternate universe one.
I also loved the one of them in the future & they all died changing the timeline back...don't know the title of that one.
H2G2 quote...The one I use most is...Marvin's: **** don't talk to me about ****. It can be adapted for any use. {I mostly use "time"}.
Star Trek?
Oh, I could talk all DAY & NIGHT about Star Trek.
You want my fave eps?
Oh, well there's a list a mile long.
TOS: City on the edge of forever.
I also liked the one where Spock got in touch with his emotions, and another, the one where Jim Kirk married his Indian lover.
I also can remember an episode where time had stood still, I recall Uhura marvelling at a bird, mid-flight. But I have never seen that episode repeated.
TNG: I loved certain moments from certain episodes, rather than whole episodes.
Like the guest appearance of Dr."Bones" McCoy in the first ever ep., having a chat with Data.
"Measure of a Man".
"The Child".
"The Inner Light".
"Cause and Effect".
"Yesterday's Enterprise".
"The Host".
DS9: Of all the characters in all the series, my favourite has to be Jadzia Dax.
Her wedding to Worf, "You are cordially invited", was much awaited by myself, and hugely enjoyed.
The pair of them marrying in red leather...
"Children of Time" I've watched that over & over again. I never get tired of it.
"The Visitor"....ditto. This episode never fails to make me weep.
"Little Green Men" Quark at his very best. "You humans pay to poison yourselves? I'm going to rule this planet"
"The Muse" The wonderful Lwaxana Troi showing her feelings for Odo and his overwhelming response.
"Trials and Tribbelations" - wonderful editing.
And I can't remember the title of the one where Jadzia fell in love with her past host's wife...
Voyager: "Timeless"
"Tuvix"
"Unforgettable"
"Living Witness"
"Before and After"
"Distant Origin"
"Future's End"
"Lifesigns"
"Parturition"
"Someone to watch over me"
And I can't remember the title of the ep where they plucked Seven of Nine from her timeline & she had to look for the bomb planted in the past.
I'm sure I've missed out some great episodes. If I remember any, I'll get back to you.
I'll chat with you about anything Star Trek related. I get precious little chance to chat, as no-one else in my family likes it.
Have you seen the wonderful "Galaxy Quest"?

I liked Galaxy Quest. My favorite h2g2 and star trek quotes are:
I like the cover "Don't Panic" It's the first helpful or intellible thing I've heard all day.
It must be thursday. I never could get the hang of thursdays.
The effects of which are like having your brain smashed out with a lemon wrapped 'round a large gold brick.
Just once I'd like to go somewhere and annouce, "behold! I am the archangel Gabriel!"
Risk is our business. That's what this ship is all about. That's why we're aboard her.
Mr. Worf ... fire!
And which Rule of Acquisition is that?
I hate Ferengi.
No bloody A, B, C, or D.
Speak for yourself, sir. I plan to live forever.
Khan!

So you like Q books, huh? I love Q-Squared and the Q continuum trilogy. Have you read them? How did you like this week's episode of voyger? I'm mad that they didn't include Q's wife.

Galaxy Babe - eclectic editor Posted Apr 14, 2001
Which series are you watching?
The last episode I saw of Voyager was "Nightingale", a Harry Kim episode.
Q wasn't in it...
I'm watching series 7 on cable...
Tomorrow night's episode has been advertized and the Hirogen are in it...it's a two-parter.
I've read I,Q and Q-squared, but not the continuum.
I've also read the Imzadi books.
I love the time travel episodes.
Saw an old DS9 today, "The Begotten", where Odo got his shapeshifting abilities back from the dying young shapeshifter; and Kira had Miles & Keiko's baby. Only on Star Trek
I'm getting the video of Galaxy Quest for my birthday next month.
I can't wait to share it with my older kids.
They are gonna love it!

Hi GB !
Thanks for inviting me. Let me start by filling in a couple of blanks for you i.e. episode titles:
>TOS: City on the edge of forever.
I also liked the one where Spock got in touch with his emotions: "Amok Time", and another, the one where Jim Kirk married his Indian lover: "Paradise" (or something like that...) <
>And I can't remember the title of the one where Jadzia fell in love with her past host's wife... : "Rejoined" (wacthed that one a thousand times...) <
>And I can't remember the title of the ep where they plucked Seven of Nine from her timeline & she had to look for the bomb planted in the past. : "Relativity"<
Did that help or am I just being completely annoying here???

Oh oh oh!
Thank you!
I want to see Rejoined and Relativity again.

He´s watching season 7, he´s just a bit further along then you, because I think he´s talking about "Q2".
The one on with the Hirogen is called "Flesh and Blood" Nothing special, trust me... But the one after that is really good...
Star Trek books..., ah... gotta love em´
The only Q books I´ve read are Q-In-Law and Q-Squared. I have the Continium book standing on my shelf though, just haven´t gotten around to reading them yet...
I love both Imzadi books (Peter David is GOD) and I swear by the entire New Frontier series, sheer brilliance...

I'm sorry that I've been gone over the weekend. I was talking about Q2. Peter David is GOD. I fyou haven't read the Q-continuum books DO IT RIGHT NOW! THEY ARE GREAT! By the way, the Kirk adn Indian Priness one is "The Paradise Syndome", I think. What are your favorite H2G2 and Star Trek quotes? i love the Imzadi books, too. I never relly understood the Worf and Troi combo. Don't you guys think that Riker and Troi should just get married and be done with it? See ya later!
U171140 => 42
Dax Posted Apr 16, 2001
Yes, absolutely... Will and Deanna should just get on with it and get married. That way Lwaxana can die happy someday, knowing that her daughter is no longer single... lol
And the TOS episode was The Paradise Syndrome... Thank you, I knew it was something with Paradise, as I said.
My favorit quotes? Though one, have to think about that...

*nods in agreement*
Yes, Troi & Riker should get married.
Thanks, Dax, gonna watch Voyager 5:12 before I go to bed tonight.
Q-in-Law is the book I have been trying to get hold of for ages.
I will find a copy!
I'll also look out for the "New Frontier" books.
So, II, which Q episode ~were~ you referring to???
U171140 => 42
Dax Posted Apr 16, 2001
GB you haven´t read Q-In-Law yet??? Oh my god, that has to be the funniest book I have ever read... I mean Q meets Lwaxana Troi, need I say more
U171140 => 42
Infinite Improbability Posted Apr 17, 2001
i was referring to Q2. I've also read Q-in-Law, but if you want the full effect you need to listen to the book on tape. Having Majel Barret and John de Lancie read their characters is to die for. I especially liked when Picard asked "What should we do?" during the Troi/Q duel and Worf said, "Sell tickets."
Also, have any of you listened to teh Spock VS Q tapes? They are a roit! On the who should just get married, I have a few more additions:
Riker/Troi
Picard/Crusher
Kirk/Dr, Marcus (yea, he's dead, but still...)
Doctor/Seven
Janeway/Chakotay
did I miss anyone?
U171140 => 42
Dax Posted Apr 17, 2001
Actually I have heard the Q-In-Law book on tape, and I though the book itself was better. There was only about 75% of the book included on the tape, they cut out some of the really good parts.
Besides, I didn´t think John De Lancie was good as a reader... Jonathan Frakes and William Shatner are good book on tape readers though...
You really think Seven should marry the doctor? He´s a hologram for god sakes. What´s she gonna do, program children to have with him?
No, if anybody needs to get a woman it´s Harry Kim... Now we just need some good candidates for him...
By the way, I have a friend who is OBSSESED with the idea of Janeway and Chakotay getting together, she´ll be happy to hear that someone else shares her oppinion...
Key: Complain about this post
