You say that I should notify you when I've done my first Guide entry but what about the guide entries I'm going to do after the firste one. Two quick questions about adding guide entries:
1. Will I be notified if my entry has been approved or not.
2. Even thought it isn't approved will it still be on my H2G2 page?

Before the BBC took the site over, they used to send out an email but I have had a collaborative entry approved this week and didn't recieve any notification - I'll check on policy and get back to you on that. Anyway the clue is that your approved guide entry appears in your approved guide entry section.
The process is as follows - you submit an article to the peer review page and people will read your article, suggest improvements etc. and volunteers called scouts will recommend articles for approval. At that point an sub-editor gets involved and at that point you lose control over the article. The sub may make changes/ additions and include wider references if it is thought to be appropriate. However the original version remains in the guide entries section of your home space and does so forever. If you check out my space you will see the articles on the Globe and Arsenal so you could check out the differences the editors made to my originals. I recommend you go to preferences and change to 'classic goo' as that is the way my page was intended to be viewed unless of course you are using goo already.
I'd be happy to read any of your articles if you'd like but the chances are very high you will strike up other friendships and wnat them to read it rather than me.
Does this help? Get back to me with any more questions .
Androyd.

Hi, some more question. How do you submit a guide entry for the peer review? And can you get an entry on the Life, The Universe and Everything pages?

Hi Suferin. Saw your post over on ezboards and came here to say hi.
Hi.
I lurk alot on the zork board and post occasionally, so you may or may not know me. If you want to find Affy, there is a link on my page to his page - just click on my name on this post to go to my page.
While you will probably enjoy writing guide entries, you will probably enjoy the community aspects of the site even more. When you go to my page and Affy's page, click on some of the forums that we have been posting to. There are all sorts of things. Some places are places for having good conversation. Other places are virtual adventures that we are participating in (both of us are currently trying to save the galaxy in one of them). So, explore and enjoy.

Hi Garius
I have seen some of your messages on The Zork Library so I know you a little. I've already been visting Affy's site but haven't really gotten around to exploring it. I think I'll do that know...and with your site to.

BASSE!!! What're you doing on the Guide? Why didn'tcha come over and say 'hi'? Why haven't you posted in a CLI thread? WHYWHYWHY???
I always enjoy instilling someone with an addicting curse, such as h2g2. You know, you're the second person on the Guide that I've been surprised to meet, after telling them about h2g2 on the Zork message board. You'll never guess who my first one was.
*Quickly backs behind Garius, points at Garius, mouthes "him", and steps back into everyone's line of site*

Hello Afgncaap5
Well as you've read at The Zork Library messageboard it's thanks to you that I've come to know this site (and also thanks to tje joy I found to read the Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy books, I'm almost finished with the last one 'Mostly Harmless'). Did you find me on the H2G2 because you read what I've written to you a TZL messageboard or for some other reason? Well anyways, I've already looked at all your sites on the H2G2 and also Garius' but I haven't gotten the time to check them all through. I think'll join of of them. Maybe all of them. What are you doing at your detective site? My first entry in the Guide is 'Moving From The Countryside To The City'. Read it and give me your opinion. I'm having plans about making a entry where people can find 'adventurer' sites e.g. Zork sites but also other textgame sites. Probably call it something like 'Ye Old Adventurer Travern' or something.

Interesting article, Basse. Very informative. The only thing I really see are a few spelling and grammer errors here and there, and you may want to change the tense of the article, but other than that it's pretty good.
BTW, I noticed that you've already had your name put on an approved entry. Kudos.
Key: Complain about this post
