The Muppetteer has just told me that he's linked to this in his blog, so I'd better right something interesting. Hmmm......
Well today we went shopping. I bought some terracotta pots to grow herbs in the patio (when we find it, the garden is a little over grown), some herb plants and a couple of nice flower pots as well. Not the most exciting haul ever, but there you go.
Now i'm here. Oh dear, not exciting at all

Monday morning blues
Posted Apr 30, 2001
The Muppetteer and I moved into our new house a little short of a year ago now. Very shortly after doing so we discovered that the previous owners had been absolutely lousy at DIY (although they hadn't let that discourage them!) and even worse at house work. I had to hoover the living room twice before I could bear to plonk any of our packing cases on it....
Anyway, we cleaned off the worst and got on with the more important things: stopping the sink leaking, getting the hot water back up and running, putting the bed back together etc etc. And then we saved up and ripped out the kitchen, since it was an environmental health hazard. We now have a shiny new kitchen. Yay!
But I digress. The reason I mention this is that its the traditional time for spring cleaning, and so I have declared war on 'THE ICK THE LAST PEOPLE LEFT BEHIND'. With this in mind I scrubbed the bathroom on Saturday morning. With an old toothbrush. Shed loads of ICK got washed down the drain. I gave up when the toothbrush started shedding its bristles in disgust, but it was a huge improvement. We're down to a couple of layers of ICK, rather than about 10 years worth.
So I get up this morning, have a bath in the shiny bath, clean my teeth in the shiny sink and then try and find something to wear - the usual Monday morning thing. And I come back upstairs to be greeted by the Muppetteer saying "Look, this shaving foam doesn't squirt properly" together with a demonstration of the foam shooting straight out over his hand and covering the bath.
Pah.
On the plus side, though, my new cookbook was delivered by Amazon this morning: "The Moro Cookbook", specially pre-ordered before its May release date. I haven't had a chance to have a good look yet, but the pics are good.

Yay!

Not a bad weekend, all told. We went to Warwick Castle to talk to the sales people, and they were very helpful, so it looks like we're on for having the wedding reception there next year!
Also went to see Ikea for the first time, and although we didn't come back with any flat pack furniture, we did come back with some goodies from their Swedish shop (anyone know what Ligonberries taste like? I'm about to find out...) and a Swedish cook book. Yay!

Bleeurgh (again)
Posted Apr 10, 2001
My beloved has given me his cold. So I feel rough. But a couple of days at home have meant that I've had time to write up my recipes for my Chinese meal I did the other day, so they have appeared as a new Guide Entry over there (points left).
Only in plain text at the moment. Might work them into GuideML when I'm feeling slightly less dopey.

Name the Hefalump
Posted Apr 3, 2001
Well, it's been a busy few days, what with the budding Messy Haven and the Name the Hefalump contest. And, of course, becoming Muse of Elephants.
I've even managed a couple of guide entries, although the wormy one needs a rewrite (probably a weekend job) and I'm still keen to write up my Chinese meal recipes properly, as much for my own benefit as anything else.
ho hum
My other half went to Sweden on business yesterday. He's brought me back a bar of 'Plopp' . How thoughtful
