I'm not feeling very well today so I'm about to go off and make myself some mashed potato (food of the gods!) which usually makes me feel much better.
But I've made my first Guide Entry! Not the recipes from my Chinese meal, as promised, but hopefully something just as interesting - "Here be worms!". Maybe not something for the easily nauseated to read when they've just eaten though. Ho Hum!

Wow!

Well, the house looks very clean this morning, apart from the kitchen, which looks like a tornado hit it. We spent about an hour making it fit for human habitation, then the guests arrived and we cooked Chinese, which went down very well. I don't think the Americans appreciated Willow the Wisp though. Shame.
If I have time tonight after doing the washing up and sorting the kitchen out, I'll put the recipes together in case anyone's interested. It was rather yummy, and we all went to bed very full.
And my friend Dominic brought me flowers, which was a nice surprise. They're now brightening up the dining room table.

Yawn

Yay! My first Journal entry. I was rinsing sticky rice at 7am this morning. The blasted stuff needs to be washed and washed and washed before being left to soak for hours and hours. I should have done it last night, but was too lazy. Why all the effort? We have people coming round to dinner tonight. Two miscellaneous people from work, and a guy from the American office and his girlfriend. Pete and I enjoy international entertaining because of the amount of unexpected double-entendres it brings up. And because it gives us a chance to bring the joys of Bagpuss to other nations. People tend to leave confused.
Sniffing about the guide this morning, I found the Beginner's Guide to Curry (http://www.bbc.co.uk/h2g2/guide/A93179) a fabulously entertaining piece which would have come in very handy last week, when we took the previously mentioned Americans out for their very first Indian meal.
Vive la diference!
