Bad timing for a cold

Yep, it's official. I'm coming down with a cold:

headache - check
blocked sinuses - check
ticklish feeling in my throat - check
runny nose - check (but only the right nostril for some reason smiley - huh)
muscle pains - check (mainly in my arms)
tired - check
no apetite - check
inability to concentrate - sorry, what? Oh yeah, check

So why the bad timing? Well I'm supposed to be going to Leeds tomorrow, to spend the evening sitting on a cold and draughty terrace at Elland Road stadium, watching a football match.

I'll make a decision in the morning as to whether I skip it or not. I'm not so worried that if I go, I'll make myself feel worse for days later. I'm more worried that I'll end up crashing the car on the way there or back.

Lemon Spaghetti

I'd always known that there were pasta dishes based around lemons, but I'd never really given it much thought.

This evening I realised that I had a lemon hanging around that really needed eating, so I thought I'd experiment.

I cooked some spaghetti, following the instructions carefully - A755741smiley - winkeye

In another pan I heated some olive oil and added a couple of crushed cloves of garlic; a quarter teaspoon of dried chili flake; and the juice of the lemon.

I cooked that for a minute or so to allow the flavours to infuse with the oil. Then chucked it over the drained pasta, and added the lemon zest and a bit of black pepper. Stirred it all up and served.

My God! It was wonderful smiley - bigeyessmiley - drool

It could have done with a pinch of salt, and maybe a little less chili. Well we'll integrate that into the recipe the next time I cook it smiley - smiley

What is it with these anagrams?

This last few days everyone, or at least a large section of hootoo, seems to have anagramised (sp? or even a real word?) their nicknames.

Now for someone such as myself who would be hard pushed to make an anagram out of the word, say, "dog", this is making life extremely difficult. I have no idea who anyone is at the moment, so following a conversation takes three times as long as it would normally do, as I have to keep checking U-numbers or U-pages even, to get the person's identity. smiley - cross

Lurkin' deep in the bushes...

... by the side of the A303, in the vicinity of Ilchester, was a talivan owned and operated by Avon and Somerset Police.

I didn't clock the sly f*cker until I was almost on top of him - so no chance of knocking some speed off. And anyway what would it matter if I had knocked a few off in the last few seconds: the grubby little scrote would have been spying on me with his pin-sharp laser through the undergrowth for a good 200 yards before I could have ever spotted him.

Heigh-ho... Well that's going to be sixty-quid towards the Chief Constable's gin & tonic fund and three points on my licence. Blehhh smiley - cross
