There is a problem with new computers. In a word - Vista.
That's one barrier I am not prepared to cross for quite a while.

Me neither, which is another reason why I'm still determined to build my own PC. Right now though it's a choice between a PC or a holiday, and I really need a holiday.

There are still a few places selling XP machines, and there seems to have been a bit of an increase in the last month or two in new PCs with Linux installed, and there are still plenty of places online selling OEM XP pro on CDROM....
