The song I was alluding to was '5-7-0-5' and not ending in nine as I first thought.

It was 8 hit in the UK charts in the summer of 1978 for a popular beat combo by the name of 'City Boy', and spending a total of 12 weeks on the Hit Parade.

Hey, what happened to the daily countdown to Lifson's birthday. smiley - yikes I can't subtract a nebulous h2g2 week from 12 days. I need them to be in the same units. smiley - erm

Okay - so it was my birthday yesterday. I managed to get a stunning total of THREE friends to turn up. We rented "One Hour Photo" (for free, because they didn't have it last time) and "The Fly" - which was hilarious!!! The others didn't think so, but then I'm weird like that.

We got pizza from "Telephone Pizza Company" - who for some reason under charged us by £2.50 and gave us a free bottle of wine for some unknown reason! We got a naked pizza with extra naked (cheese and tomato with extra cheese) and a chicken curry and kebab meat one, and black olives with anchovies (which was very nice!). Master B - if you still want me to send you some pizza - we've got a couple of slices of the last one left. smiley - winkeye

Now - should 3 small Stellas, 2 chocolate-honeycomb flavour "screamers" and 2 big cans of Guiness have had any kind of effect on my otherwise tee-total (coffee-total!) body? I didn't seem to. I didn't have a head ache, and at the end of the evening, I could still stand on one leg, look at the ceiling, touch my nose and recite the alphabet (despite the fact that I can't usually!)!!!

So yeah - that was my birthday - and I am now an adult. smiley - erm Oh well - at least it's not compulsory to act like one!!! smiley - winkeye

smiley - erm So how do "nebulous h2g2 weeks" go then? Is this something I've missed?

I was referring to the date given on postings, Lifson. In brunel they show up as minutes, hours, days and then just drop into weeks for a long time rather than having a specific date. So having found a post where you said it was 12 days to go but the header saying it 1 week old, I didn't know how many days to subtract (7, 8, 9, 10 ...). It seems I guessed quite well on returning here to post but that you forgot to make the journal entry which you said you would start on the day itself. smiley - biggrin I hope that means you were having too much fun in real life rather than that you were off sulking though.

Sulking? Me? Don't have time to sulk.

That morning I had to re-take my ICT-Mod 2 exam. I had specifically told them not to enter me, especially as I already had 79 marks from the first time round, and you only need 80 to get an A! However, they hadn't charged me for it, and I would have to pay withdrawal if I just didn't show, so I had to be in for 9:30 for that.

Then came the Mod 4 and 3 deadlines on the same day, and so on and so on...which is why I didn't put a posting up that day.

However, there is a birthday thread on my space, as provided by the ever thoughtful and wonderful (and mine!) IM. smiley - loveblush

And I see what you mean about the weeks!!!

Ah, exams. Not exactly fun then but hopefully a lot more productive than sulking. smiley - biggrin

My younger brother used to get depressed about exams and not having done enough revision for them. His behavioural response to depression was to shut himself in his bedroom in the dark with loud music on. This was instead of actually doing the revision. As a result he was trapped in this circular pattern of making himself more depressed by not doing revision and not doing revision because he was depressed. smiley - weird In the end he passed the exams though. smiley - biggrin
