What is it with these anagrams?

This last few days everyone, or at least a large section of hootoo, seems to have anagramised (sp? or even a real word?) their nicknames.

Now for someone such as myself who would be hard pushed to make an anagram out of the word, say, "dog", this is making life extremely difficult. I have no idea who anyone is at the moment, so following a conversation takes three times as long as it would normally do, as I have to keep checking U-numbers or U-pages even, to get the person's identity. smiley - cross

I hate anagrams! As a dyslexic they are particulary mean smiley - sadface

It's a Halloween tradition, which I have (partially) ensured is taking off 2 weeks early this year, and will no doubt reduce hootoo to chaos until Bonfire Night or thereabouts.

And GreyDesk is an anagram of "Dry Geeks". You can even keep the same capital letters. smiley - ok

There is only one thing worse than being Gosho, and that is not being Gosho

I think it's some dopey Hallowe'en thing... although I've no idea what anagrams have to do with Hallowe'en. It's the first I've heard of it in 49 years.

A Halloween thing? You mean having kids banging on your front door and pestering you for sweets isn't enough of an imposition. Well I certainly shan't be playing smiley - tongueout

A tradition you say, B?

Funny, I always thought that a something needed to have a bit of a history behind it before it could be considered as a 'tradition'.

Y'know GD, if any kids come knocking at your door on Hallowe'en and saying 'Trick or Treat', perhaps you should reply 'Trick'. I'll bet several pints that most of them will give you a blank stare because they won't have a clue what you're on about - they've just been told that you dress up, knock on doors and say this mantra to people, and they give you sweeties. I doubt that they know anything about what trick or treat really means, and the same probably goes for a lot of American kids these days too.
