I love your description of Brighton but I'm not sure which of the categories I fall into.

Perhaps we could have a meet-up (or whatever it is they call those real-life community events) in Sussex one day. I can't really afford the fare to Denver or Esbjerg.

I might be able to stretch to the £1 bus fare from Hollingdean into town but would like to point out that I'm too old to go into most of the pubs and clubs in Brighton (e.g. of legal drinking age)

(oh, about the advertisment, - any vacancies for qualified Pharmacy assistants currently working in dead-end call centre jobs?)

Woo-Hoo! yet another Brighton researcher, demonstrating that once again in the field of New Media, Brighton punches above its weight smiley - smiley

The local total of h2g2ers stands at four, the active world wide total is around 600. Yet way less than 1 in 150 English speakers comes from around here.

As for jobs, if a Pharmacy assistant is the same sort of thing as a Pharmacy technician, then the answer is yes! Take a look at this link:

http://www.nursingnetuk.com/template_joblist?NursingNet=f5ec8868d137e511dbabef08afaf8f38&ss=MC_2xMDE0ODgwNzU4JnRlb_1Bs_2_1Rl_13Nl_23RvcnNl_2_1JjaF8xJjg5MzkX&a8932i0=MQXX&a8932_1_0=1&a8932i1=NAXX&a8932_1_1=4&a8932i2=NQXX&a8932_1_2=5&a8932i3=NgXX&a8932_1_3=6&a8932i4=NwXX&a8932_1_4=7&a8943_1.x=43&a8943_1.y=11

Hmmm... that link looks a bit on the long and complicated side and might not work when I post it. If it fails, try this one:

http://www.brighton-healthcare.nhs.uk/

and follow the "Job Opportunities" links to get you to the same place smiley - ok

Thanks for the Job links. I'll look at them when I get home (I'm only allowed the BBC website at work)

Have you counted Orcadian and Bob the Babel Fish in your four people who live in Brighton?

I'm sure there are probably loads more we don't even know about...

Orcadian

Orcadian here, currently in Brighton, and have been for five years.

This is the only bit of the Kent-Sussex-Hampshire coast I can stand, apart from the cliffs at Newhaven. After Hampshire things improve somewhat.

Up the Albion! Up their what?

Bloomin 'eck! Make that six.
My other two were Acidbath and Little Behemoth - admitedly both not as active as they once were, but still here abouts.

Brighton born, myself. Like Rome and that other place you mentioned, Brighton is also built on seven hill. As is Bath, another place I lived in for a while. Now in Somerset.

I'll add you to the Brighton roster smiley - smiley
I thought Bath was in Somerset again? I presume you live in a different bit now.

Sorry for the page width, that's my fault for posting that really long URL smiley - blush

The text seems to wrap for me, but then I'm using the "frames" option and not "single pages".

Bath is in Somerset and yes, I am in a different bit now - Wells. Bloody brilliant place for retirement. But I'm not, so we'll be moving again soon...
Whereabouts in Brighton?

So does this mean we have enough people to make it worthwhile getting together????

Hanover rings no bells - give me another clue.
