Grey Swordsman: *clears his throat*
" -I meant, I've got the necessary gear and technical information already out and ready to go in the Lab."
*whistles "If I were a rich man" while strolling over to the other corner of the room*

A radio blares a bit of news:
[Ronald]: (To someone who is probably one of the recording people/sound tech folks) : "Under new management? What the... Are you serious??? What-do-you-mean that we-are-still-recording?!"
*there is the sound of somewhat of a scuffle as the reporter continues to squabble with the sound person who seems to be more stubborn than dirt.*
[Sound tech]: "No. I'm the recording guy. I get to carry the equipment. You'll just probably break it.*
*Slap!*
"Hands off!!"
[Ronald]: "Oh, come on... just let me see it for like a second. I promise that I'm not going to break any-"
*there is the sound of something breaking.*
[Sound person]: "I don't know who the new boss guy is (just yet),- but that's probably going to come out of your pay check."
[Ronald]: "Oh shut-up." *takes the device* "Give me that,- now let's see... where was I?"
*Continues to go on about how he thinks the league is a big threat and how it's a wonder that the city is still standing, etc.*

Anyway, I'm going to arrange a meeting with Ronald face to face. I want to know who made up those lies about me. And in case the distraction doesn't work it should keep our 'friend'chewing at the bit while you guys get things sorted. I'm off to get changed, could the new CEO of the news company make the arrangements please.
*Goes to find her costume*

Well, I guess I'll go flood the warehouse, cleverly disguised a university student, as to be inconspicuous.

Grey Swordsman: "So now, technically you could say that I "own it", but if we could forcefully circumvent this guy... say by stalling or distracting him... maybe if one of us turned out to be his new boss? Imagine the look on his face when it'll turn out there isn't anything he can do about it. this is called working "with the system (eh-heh)". Never thought I'd be glad for anything about bureaucratic gobbledy-gook and institutional mumbo-jumbo."
*Does a wry wink then shrugs.*

Grey Swordsman: "Now,... about that Alchemy project: to fund our little "endeavor" ..."

yes, where are we going to get a buck load of lead? by the way is the amount of gold produced proportional to the amount of lead used up? because we might need a huge amount of lead for only a small amount of gold.

*the Grey Swordsman says this next part with an as though put upon air*
"Yes, the amoun t of lead to the amoun t of gold is equal,- more or less. That's why they call alchemy a proto-science... (I think )."

Hi there,
Its probably better that I've got to speak to you guys later because I can actually show you what I'm currently doing. But first a brief intro.
Right last night when I realised I had no idea what was going on in h2g2, I thought right it would be a good idea if we had a magazine that people from different parts of h2g2 could tell us whats going on in their part of h2g2, and what they've been discussing, what kind of role play/wars they've been having, and what they've been discussing generally...
This would give the opportunity for every member of h2g2 to get involved, and tell people what life is like on h2g2!
And with that I'll show you what I've got so far :
The front page is here : A13768211
It follows on like pages and if you want to jump to a particular article you can click on the index and go straight there!
Theres still a hell of a lot to sort out, and a lot can change and probably will, but basically it would be great if you're interested as if we can get as many groups as possible interested we could have something huge! You don't have to write much (a paragraph will do), or you can write a lot, it really depends on what you have to say, but I'm trying to create a format that is as flexible as possible.
So What do you think?
The Council Room
Galigan Posted Aug 16, 2006
Well, I think it's a good idea, nice and well thought out with foresight etc, but isn't that what the post's for? I realise there isn't much in the Post about h2g2 itself but maybe what you could do is collaborate with them to include a 'what's happening in h2g2' section.
This might sound rather like me dashing your dreams against the rocks of cynicism, but that's just me being cautious. If you get enough people involved you could get it how you've thought so far, and if that happens you can count us in. Good luck with it however it turns out.

Terran Posted Aug 16, 2006
Ah I thought of that you see I don't always think that far ahead, but no this doesn't clash with the post.
And yes I would serious consider collaborating with the post, but first I want to get the thing off its feet... I love the post myself and have written for it, been a minor editor for it, and even did the editorial once...
But you see the post gets a lot of community members involved writing, but it doesn't get anyone writing about h2g2... thats where this comes in...
You can tell people about anything that is going on in h2g2... and I think that would fit in nicely.
So what things do you think you could write about? Or any of your members? Of any groups you're in?

Well to tell the truth this society's been rather quiet recently, but when we're more active there's normally battles going on in the city and I could give small reports on that, and sometimes there's bbqs in the garden and stuff like that.
As for other societies, I'm involved I a few but mainly it's the thingites, so I'll join in with whatever's going on in there.

Terran Posted Aug 16, 2006
I'm quite interested in histories of societies as well. Do you think you could maybe say a bit about how the group started, and any interesting/funny things that have happened?
The Council Room
Terran Posted Aug 16, 2006
Well you can use poetic licence if you like But seriously it would just be nice to see how it started
The Council Room
Terran Posted Aug 16, 2006
I'd love to see it if you can, but I genuinely don't want to be an imposition. It doesn't have to be particularly long, just the edited highlights if you wish, just something to say that you're nhere and that you've been part of the greatest hoopiest community on h2g2!

Galigan Posted Aug 17, 2006
Ok, I'll do it when I can but I don't thing that'll be for a while yet. When are you hoping to get a proper issue going?
The Council Room
Terran Posted Aug 17, 2006
Not sure yet, could be a few weeks, could be a couple of months... depends on how quickly people respond really... but we don't have to get everything in the first part, we do need to have other issues
