Sooner consider the theraputic qualities of a vodka and Orange, if its all the same to you, thanks! Sprouts? High in vitamin C, yes, but all the appeal of a slug and lettice sandwitch!

i read somewhere there was more vit c in one kiwi fruit than 6 oranges, dont know how true it is but im living off them at the moment!
And as for the old whiskey type stuff. I discovered a rather nice scotch over the festive period.... called highland park, its made in the orkneys or somewhere else equally remote, windswept and interesting and is rather yummy (try it if you get a chance Ev. its not up to bushmills I dont think, but certainly drinkable!) hic, hic.. oh dear was that me???

Mmmm, Highland Park is rather jolly good, I must admit. When the Yellow Perils cough up (ha!) I may well invest in a celebratory bottle.
In the meantime... Vodka and Kiwi? Now there's an idea worth entertaining, if you like!
Health and non sobriety, what an excellent combination!

Spike, Highland Park is Whisky, not Whiskey. The difference is important.
I lived on a distillery for 17 years...

"I lived on a distillery for 17 years..."
That's a curious phrase.
"in a distillery"
"off a distillery"
would not have bothered me, but, knowing your reputation for precision, I sense a revelation.

Mmm, that curious choice of phrase did occur to me, too.
C'mon Peet, don't keep us in suspenders too long (too ruddy draughty in this weather, dear), tell us all about living on a distillery for 17 years... if of course the memory isn't too impaired!

I was thinking of putting an and/or spelling for whisky/whiskey for those who care , but couldnt really be bothered!!
Ev, ever tried Malibu with milk?? Another strange yet healthy drink which can get one sozzled quite well..

Nah... don't like cissy girlie drinks like Malibu, Archers etc, all that much - and especially sweet coconutty tipples... sorry! Now Brandy in milk.. whisky in milk.. and even (sacrilidge) whiskey in milk I can cope with. Guiness in milk is really good for helping with convalescence... apparently. Thats what my great grandmother used to tell me when I was very small (and believed almost anything people told me)... and she was over 85 when she finally went to meet her maker! In the very early sixties, that was quite an age to achieve!

That is a line from an old Roger Moore film, when an oil rig is "held to ransom" .. If you can hold an oil rig to ransom that is?? I cvant remember if Moore was a goody or baddie in that one, but I do remember that line, after someone asked for whisk(e)y and ice... Good grief where did i rememembr that from? Odd the things memory can come up with when you least expect it.

More specifically, I lived on *the grounds of* a Distillery...
Glenglassaugh Distillery, for those who care. My father was Mashman / Stillman there.

So far I have found no mention of Peet, nor peat.
Not that I doubt your word.

I am mentioned...
If you click the "Further Info" tab, I was the person who updated their pronounciation.
The main page info for visitors is about 12 years out of date; that's when the distillery closed down.

"I was the person who updated their pronounciation."
That was your word that I wasn't doubting.
Sorry about the closure.
