Hello AngelGabriel.
My name is Kumetanzuka (most call me Lady K or some other derivitive) and I'd like to add my greetings to the ones you've already received and any you receive in future! Welcome to this amazing community!
I like to say hi and welcome to new researchers some of the time when i catch them online, and when I noticed your name was AngelGabriel I just HAD to stop by and visit, because I love the legends/stories/scriptures about the Angels (btw, have you noticed that h2g2 has its own society of Archangels? If you'd like, you can get your very own Guardian Angel, or even become one)...
Feel free to drop by my page for a drink and a chat (just click on my name) or to respond to this post. Also, if you're interested in becoming a part of what may turn out to be a very important new project on the Guide, please come on over and check out the Terran Embassy http://www.h2g2.com/U160465 and its related entries. (to get the the Embassy itself, click on the globe picture at the top of the page on the above link.)
I hope you find what you're looking for, and have a great experience here on h2g2.
Best wishes,
Lady K

My dear Lady K!
Thank you for looking in on me. h2g2 is something spectacular, and extremely daunting in the beginning, and it brightens my day to see that everybody cares about the novices.
As to clarification: I am not a beliver, per se. I find angels fascinating, in a mythological and symbolical sense, but I do not subscribe to the religious connotations. However, as a purely abstract concept, they are beautiful. I´m hoping it will rub of on me, so there you have the the explanation for the first part of my name. Secondly, Gabriel (or Gabrielle)is the name I´m going to give my firstborn child, as I find it beautiful as well. So you see, my Lady, I see the world through a looking-glass that transforms dross into gold, and it helps me change awful into beautiful.
Thank you, again, and would you please let me hear from you again.
P.S. I visited your Space. If I find some material and constructional aids for you, I hope that I can send them to you without imposing on your hospitality D.S.
Sincerely
AngelGabriel

Wonderful to hear from you!
Like you, I am not really a 'believer'. Similarly, what I find fascinating is the idea of the Angels, and the stories behind them and all. Gabriel is indeed a beautiful name. I am actually similarly fascinated with a lot of things, many (but by no means all) of them including aspects of religion. But I don't really have a religion of my own as such.
Thank you - and any help would be much appreciated. I don't know whether you said you visited my space, or the page I gave you (the link in my first post is a separate user created specifically for the Embassy... you'll learn more about that as you get used to H2G2). At any rate, if you read or write any languages other than English, and you're willing to put a little bit of time in, your help could be used right now!
I am sure there is nothing you could do that would impose upon my hospitality! Please feel free to chat any time you like! (umm, I may be not thinking straight, but the meaning of D.S.eludes me...?)
I do hope you will have a spectacular time at h2g2!
Keep in touch,
Lady K

My dear Lady K!
D.S means De Scriptum, an ending to a P.S. sentense!
I am fluent in German and Swedish as well, but I am currently deeply involved in a project that puts these skills to use. I am not sure to which extent I can help you, or rather how speedily I can deliver results if you decide to toss some work my way. I work round the clock as it is. However, I´m game if you are, my Lady, so let´s see how it goes!
Salut
AngelGabriel

Ah! Swedish is one I don't think we have on board yet!
The project is slow getting off the ground - everyone of course has their own projects to tend to, OL and IRL as well as here. However, there are a few specific things that would be helpful. We have some pages that need translation into any available language, as well as, when the Embassy opens officially to the public, we'll need linguistic support for non-english Researchers.
Any help would be great, and there are no specific time demands at this point. Don't strain yourself - if you don't have the time or energy, that's perfectly okay!
Thank you for clarifying D.S., I had never encountered that before!

My Lady!
I´m overwhelmed by your confidence in me. For all you know I could have been lying to impress you. However, sådant är inte fallet (that is not the case, in Swedish)! So, if you please, give me directions on how to find them, or mail the documents to me directly at [email protected], and I´ll see to it!
It´s a pleasure to serve
AngelGabriel
P.S. I hope that you´ve discussed this with the other Lords and Ladys at court. Well, I guess you now have an angel serving you, just like you know who! Oops, that rhyme was unintentional D.S.

Terran Ambassador (trying to promote continuing multilingualism on the Guide) Posted Jan 8, 2001
AngelGabriel:
hello! This is Lady K, in the guise of Terran Ambassador. It has been a while since we last spoke, but if you are still around and you still have the time and the desire to help the Terran Embassy along, I have two sub-projects that could use your help.
The first is a fairly short translation of a welcome message written for the Embassy in its baby stages. The message is for any users who happen upon the Embassy before it is officially in business, but wish for help in other languages now. To find the message in English, go to the embassy userpage:
http://www.h2g2.com/U160465
Once there, click on the conversation labelled "Welcome: Translation" to find a copy of the messages to be translated. The conversation thread will give you a more specific idea of what's required.
The second translation project is more large scale. We are trying to translate some of the important pages of the Guide for new Users. Below are the links to the three we're currently focussing on, as well as the link to one already translated in French, to give an example:
http://www.h2g2.com/Welcome
http://www.h2g2.com/Welcome-Newcomers
http://www.h2g2.com/DontPanic
http://www.h2g2.com/A505441
Thanks a lot for your help, and if you'd like more information, simply post your questoins here or in one of the Embassy threads and it'll be answered!
