h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I've got an idea brewing in the back of my head, but for it to gel, I need to know what kind of wings you dog-tailed elephant has. Little fluffy ones? Big batlike ones? Big fluffies? Little bats? Or, for that matter, medium sized either type?

puts me in mind of wings in flight. So maybe
a seagull type, more about their shape than
their texture.

But it doesn't have a big readership these days.

And I have to confess I'm at a loss to figger out
what house you're talking about or what fund raising
you're talking about or which ASK thread you mean.

Maybe I'm getting the old timers dissiness...

and puzzle this out.

I just wanted to be sure that it wouldn't be inappropriate to ask for money there, like it would be here.

In fact Tefkat is in the midst of buying
a new house, a farmhouse near the Scottish border
with barns and outbuildings and rocks and stuff.

Rocks, now there's something I know a bit about.
I don't even have an oven. I cook on a hotplate.
They don't make 'em like they used to, the damn
knobs keep falling off and the rheostats foul up
so they have no control over the burners that are
either too hot (dangerously so) or won't boil water.

Which reminds me I gotta buy a new one and even these
crap ones are hard to find these days. I've been looking
at an electric griddle thingy wondering how many pots
I could get on it and would their dirty bottoms spoil
the grilling surface for steak and eggs and flapjacks.

Not much joy there then.
Well it was worth a try.
But most of us at n2g2 are wishful thinkers.
You know we'd all love to help but most of us
are poor as mice. Pensioners and working class
mostly. One of our number has not been seen since
before Xmas and I suspect the cost of internet
service is the cause. But if one of us ever wins
the lottery I know there will be some serious
sharing.
