Traveller in Time on many threads
"Do you want to stay member of Points of View, or are you going to be a Researcher?

Hi! I only went onto PoV to check out these new DNA messageboards (my MB is R3 Classical but occasionally I dip into R2).
Is this an either/or question then?
The answer is, I want to stick with R3 (which is not yet going DNA) but I like it here as well. Not worried about PoV at all. I thought one log-in fits all, so to speak in these cloned MBs?
Confused - I am - what do you want me to say? Alright. I want to post here and I want to post on R3 MB.

Traveller in Time currently offending the POV house rules
"Well, from my point of view I am posting to a personal Space Forum from HooToo. Where this is allowed
The POV board closes at 22:00 Brittish time. HooToo does not close a we are international .
Besides the house rules there are other aspects making the sites different. We can not quote eachothers postings as they do on POV, on HooToo we have a Journal . And ofcourse we have the Edited Guide, we are Researchers for the Guide, well if we manage to research enough

Well, I would like to stay here, as a Researcher. But I think we are all a bit confused about this DNA change over from the BBC MBs? It would be really neat if a BBC Host could actually spell it out, the changes and stuff? At the moment the Hosts/Mods are conspicuous by their absence. So, now what do you want me to do? I logged out from PoV
Hello AnastasiaSapphire from you ACE...
Dan Morgan Posted Jun 13, 2005
Ah! so is it that we have to have a different log in here, and a different log in over on the Beeb MBs? Well, I wish someone would go on the Beeb boards and explain, in words of one syllable, what on earth is going on when the MBs change over. So many people are saying they are going to leave because this is so horrendous and unworkable. I will now de-register.

Traveller in Time 'Migration Officer' <?>
"To be honest: they are not very clear about it here as well.
Speculations are:
--All Personal Spaces will go to one site
--There will be a permanent unidirectional site transfer 'Migration process'
Current situation every DNA site has its own properties and rules.
< <./>/dna/hub/</.> >, < <./>/dna/ww2/</.> >, < <./>/dna/1xtra/</.> > (just linking a few).
We all have access to each others site, you only have to sign-on once for each site to confirm agreement with the local rules, before you can post there.
If you press the link below you will become a Researcher. As far as known there is no way back.

Thanks Traveller
I was a bit confused about it myself, I have found out as much as I can, which is about the same as what you have just said

Hi! Well, I have clicked on that link! I am now here properly
I think the confusion is that is says on the BBC if you set up a BBCi account you can access all the DNA MBs. Obviously this is going to happen quite a lot with the change over, perhaps Migration could be covered in the Help Topics?
Thanks for all you help

Traveller in Time on budget
"Let us just wait what the official BBC comments are. This site is going to cover lots of seperate departments, and all want to keep their share in business.
Just only 24th March they closed a good running sub-site for saving some money <?>. "

Hi, sorry to be a pain But if I am not in PoV anymore why are all my postings on h2g2 listed when I click on my name? Do you know is there is anyway to stop that or will it always continue because that is where I joined BBCi? Should I re-register here with a different email address do you think?
Sorry for all the questions

Traveller in Time on brunel
"This thread is now from h2g2, so you are a Researcher.
If you use the default skin, brunel, you will see your postings above all other listed on your Personal Space.

Sorry, No, I didn't explain myself very well (hard day at work!) I meant, why are all my h2g2 postings showing up on PoV MB personal page :/

Traveller in Time looking at < <./>/dna/onthefuture/U1619191</.> >
"They are.
That is because we all live on the same database, the path (URL) makes the skin, the content stays (mostly) the same.
Hmm, how about a wild site tour ? < U993628 > "

Hi Traveller in Time/Manda (not sure who is now my official ACE )
Small query please. If I put a link on my PS to a h2g2 edited entry do I have to ask permission of the author? Don't want to break the rules
Hello AnastasiaSapphire from you ACE...
Traveller in Time Reporting Bugs -o-o- Broken the chain of Pliny -o-o- Hired Posted Jun 19, 2005
Traveller in Time not an ACE
"You do not need permission to put any link onto your Personal Space. Even most external links are . You could however show your admiration concerning the entry to the author (for Edited Entries the 'Written and Researched by:' name) by visiting their Personal Space and,well.say.what.you.want.to.say
(space.bar.did.finish)
"

Thanks - gosh! I thought you was an ACE! However, you just fly around and help folks in trouble - sort of a caped crusader are you then?
Helping folks with no thought of yourself - altruism personified
