living in Asia
I live in the wonderful anti-wilderness of Hong Kong, and have been enjoying its lung fusing scents for over 12 years. I'm in the fortunate position of travelling extensively across Asia for business, bringing me in close contact with a wide variety of frighteningly deadly 'welcome cocktails'...locally mixed hootch enthusiastically poured by potential business folk at the close of the first night's arrival. After all this time I was begining to take the marvels of deadly Indian street crossing, the wonders of discouraging randy Thai ladymen and the warming toothless glow of the Philippine goat cooker for granted. Now that I am a father, I can now relive these psychological damaging wonders again through my children's eyes.
If anyone would care to discuss the adventures of bribing customs officials, the etiquette of swearing in foreign languages or the nuances of socially acceptable expressions while undergoing a body search...I'm all yours.
