It's got me baffled.
pamelamaesteg Started conversation Jan 13, 2006
Hi BDG.Can you (or anyone else reading this) figure out where I've gone wrong on my Music Guide entry A7484673.
Between the poems 'Reaching for a star' and 'Music' I have a border which I made by putting a row of musical notes between two Horizontal lines .No problem. I tried to put the same border between 'Back to the sixties' and 'Reaching for a star' NO WAY. I just couldn't get it . The only way I got it was by putting HR, a Smiley type "space" ,HR , the row of musical notes and HR again. It looks in Alabaster and Classic Goo but it's wrong in Brunel. The notes are at the side of the poem instead of underneath. Any ideas how I can put it right.
It's not a big problem. It's just annoying me.

Hi Pamela
to be so long getting back! I'm afraid I'm no expert on it and I haven't got a clue! Have you thought about asking in my BDG Message Centre thread? He will no doubt know? It's annoying isn't it when things like that happen
Shame your parents were not well over Christmas I see in the other thread, I do hope they are on the road to recovery now? Glad you managed to get to your concert at least . Are they both well normally or do you look after them both?
It is a small world Jon doing your web site and everything I noticed it when I looked at his web site, he seems like a nice guy and makes the most of life. My husband is a Rehab Worker for the Blind and Mike Reynolds is partially sighted so it was a thread about Braille that someone had told him about that prompted him to come in the CB.
I'm off up to stay with Helen next week and meet up with a few other posters in Manchester should be good fun.
Take care and big

Hi Traveller
I'm still here .Writing this offline, as I use Pay-as-you-go.
I don't know if it makes any difference to the page, but I use an Internet T.V.box. It doesn't get stations ,just some of the Internet. It usually works here, so I think the problem is probably my fault.
I usually use Alabaster. Just noticed that in Classic Goo the line of notes is too long and starts to make a second row.

Traveller in Time stumbling in again
"The idea is to make two coloms, one Bold and BIG, ond small width and normal font. And a picture above.
Then a line of
A picture above.
A single colom text.
Then a line of
A picture above.
A single colom text.
Something like that ? "

Hi Traveller, Myidea was to make a border between each poem usng two lines with a row of . . in between. I put the dots because I got fed up writing I know the page looks diffferent on computers sometimes . It looks with me in Alabaster. but Brunel is the main problem. The second border is but the first one comes out as a block of notes at the left hand side of the poem.
I'm not sure where you are. It's 3 AM here ,and I should be so can't stay much longer tonight.

Hello Traveller, I will try to change some of my page using the info from the Edit page that you have. I didn't mean to have big text on my "Back to the Sixties" poem. It makes it too squashed and long. I would prefer the pictures in the poem (not on top ) if I can. If the text does not overlap them. I had that problem before.
I can't cut and paste with my Internet T.V so will try to print out the Edit page and sort it out from there. It may be a long night.

Traveller in Time trying to imagine
"Already thought so about the first verse.
Have to ask: are these your verses ? That is is it not work from somebody else, more or less suggested in the side bar.
-----------------------------------
How about the vertical o / ~ ?
Think you can better leave them out first. .
until first next
You do not need to use spaces, indenting the Tags. I use them to have a clear overview when creating complex tables.
COLSPAN="3" makes one cell of the table as wide as three in another ROW
( and <Table Delimiter> you will see a small line between the cells (I do at the TV Simulator)

Hello I know it's still wrong ,but I can't do any more tonight.
The verses are mine. The links at the side are sites of people and places that inspired the poems.
Not too keen on the vertical s If I put the picture inside on the two lower poems , (as I had it before) then make the text on those two the next size up. would they fill the width of the border to make all the boxes the same size.
Will work on it tomorrow.

I'm back again. Why do you put the info in the narrow colomn first.? I had thr picture and the poem info together then the other colomn. Will I have to re-write that part?

Hello I'm still working on it. Keep getting errors with TD and TR. Have changed the size of the text and changed 90% and 10% to 80% and 20% because the second colomn was too narrow. By the way the bold tags on the links are because I could not see them in Brunel on my T.V. screen. Pamela

Top part in Alabaster looks Great. But in Brunel and Classic Goo it's the wrong way around. The poem is very thin and the Links colomn is Wide. What have I done wrong now Pamela

Still working on it, but it is looking to me in all skins now. Hope it looks on your computer screen. Pamela

Traveller in Time only skimming the entry
"The current version does not render in 'any' browser.
They all distort the page due to some half tables.
The second and third verse lack the Table Row and Table Delimiter tags
picture and verse
That is currently the worst part of code
I also object against the use of EMBED in picture tags as most browsers only render that as last part, often after the space is already occupied, so in effect pushing the text over other content. But as the italics do not care this should not be of serious concern.
Hmm, what is the idea to do with this entry ? "
