All Yorkshire rivers are at high level due to snow melt on't hills, now! We have a "stupid named storm" coming and heavy rain forecast for Tuesday to Thursday, amber flood warnings throughout Yorkshire
meaning many who have been flooded out a few times in the last year or two ? are going to get it again...
One "place/village ?" There are residents STILL living in caravans after 1 year from last flood'out of their homes

"many" of us have said:- "they" should have never stopped dredging major rivers etc usual government cuts over the many years etc
and on the Pennines plus other hills etc, they built concrete channels for water flow another mistake!

Sounds like the arguments that rage over here with the Army Corps of Engineers, over dredging and such. Also mucking about with the Mississippi. Don't muck about with the Mississippi, and don't build in a floodplain.

That's usually the case. Natural processes happen for a reason - if you want to interfere, you need to understand them first.

I've got to go now. We have to eat so that Elektra can be ready to run over to the doctor's for a quick test. They scheduled it at an odd time - after dark - so her chauffeur is coming in an hour. (Brother-in-law, he drives better and can see at night, unlike me.)
