There's been a very bad hurricane in Texas - I'm worried about Baron Grim. It's still raining and flooding, and spawning tornadoes down there. Yuck.

Actually, I liked the people who were commenting on the sousaphone video...because they have every right to be annoyed at those guys with the flags.

And yes, I know we can talk, we did dumb things, too... I remember one night in a German forest, proving I could drink a Pole under the table, okay, okay...

Well, yeah, especially when you were in a foreign country, and couldn't count on anybody to bail you out.

PS: Why a German forest ? what's up with a bar/pub ?

We were on a student trip. Art historians, forestry experts, and foreigners. So half the time, we had to stand in a cold cathedral while some expert droned on and on about the statuary...then we stood around in a forest while a German count explained how he used Icelandic horses instead of tractors for logging...

We ended up at a cookout staged by the forest rangers. They had pork roasted on an open fire, and, er, homemade schnapps...rather a lot of it... We sat around the campfire and sang German songs. I taught them a few new verses to 'Holadihi...'

That Polish guy was much bigger than me, and he thought he had to uphold Slavic honour...he was so mad when I didn't get a hangover and his head was splitting the next day...
