Graduation was lovely - kids looked great in their robes and stuff. The speaker turned out to be a retired teacher who went to uni with my sister, they're old friends. She gave a great talk. Now the kids are off to par-tay, while we old folk get some rest from watching them.

NEVER actually sat a major exam

we had what was called an 11 plus (11yr) to determine if you went to secondary school or the higher one (1961) but I was off school for approx 1 yr due to back operation and recovery, so I was "automatically" sent to secondary school and left at 15yrs - in those days, secondary school was the sort of non achievers lot (menial jobs etc) , whereas high schoolsnobs (say no more)
